  • One of my favorite moments like this was a Reddit thread where some account was pretending to be human and arguing with people in favor of the CEO's actions during The Purge. Then one person asked it a question about making some dangerous thing or other, and it starting replying with things like "As an AI model, I cannot explain how to do that." and stuff. It was great.

    The entire point is a minority not letting the majority shame or otherize them. The the majority freaks out and responses with "ME TO BUT BETTER THAN YOU DID IT!".

All it takes is for one thing to go wrong, one law to change, or one financial scare to happen, and BOOM. Suddenly this great monopoly is doing things people hate and there's no alternative.

  • Pretty simple, actually. Content farms push as much media out as possible to get as much attention and views as they can. This generates ad revenue. Advertisers pay Google for the ads, Google pays content creators.

    But yeah, I didn't realize for the longest time that most people can see things in their minds at will. I never got an official diagnosis, but I tick damn near every box, and literally every person I've mentioned probably being autistic to has said something like "Oh, that makes sense!" I'm actually talking to a professional this weekend to see what she thinks.

  • Huh, thought I posted this already, but I guess I forgot to.

    I've been on food stamps before. Basically, I said that my parents ranted and complained about "other people" scamming the system and not deserving the welfare, but I did. They also were shocked at how little I actually got each month, because they assumed you were supposed to get a lot more money.

    There was also Qjoypad, but I haven't used it in a while.

    Basically, the game is reading the raw controller input as well as the translated virtual controller input. I've run into that a lot before on other games. The fix I found is usually to try another mapper, or to disable the controller in the game and map the controller to keyboard and mouse. It's annoying.

    With luck, you -might- have luck with closing the game and setting up the controller mapper, then start the game. If the mapping program provides an Xinput option, try toggling that and see if it helps.

  • Legitimately the only reason I still have a Windows 10 ISO and key sitting on my long term storage drive is because I fear that I may have to install it to use VR whenever I get a new kit.

    Actually, didn't Facebook buy the lens company Valve was donating to and working with to develop their new VR lens tech? I forgot about that. Another reason to hate Facebook. (I refuse to call it the M word.)
