Unless you can actually engage with the points I've made there really isn't a point in engaging with the cheer squad.

I know more than plenty about AOC, her public addresses, her interviews, what legislation she's been on and what she hasn't.

From 2018-2022, she was S tier. Now, she mid. At best. Ro Khanna far better than her at getting things done. Ilhan Omar doesn't have to trace back her steps and retriangulate. I'm not judging AOC against anyone but her peer group and where she used to lead, she now follows. She'll need to do better if she wants to be president and that's just a fact.

The cheer squad down voting my critique in their emotional manner, it doesn't change the issues I've identified.

I want to see her take more media. I don't think she's as prepared many other potential candidates (Khanna is a good correllary). She's been able to stick to very safe media spaces and that won't fly in a campaign. Right now she's the best option, but I'd rather see more competitive options to sharpen her. I'm also not super impressed with her last 2 years as a representative. She's developing some.. bad habits when it comes to triangulation.

I also think Platner could run. They take much harder media interviews. I think Khanna could run. I also think there are some potential candidates out of Minnesota, what with their ability to show leadership during the ICE campaign there, like Jacob Frey.

AOC has been a bit of a disappointment as she's become more comfortable in her seat. I don't really get the uncritical cheerleading,.although I have come to expect it. AOCs political instincts went from great in 2018 to very not good in the previous year, and instinct really matters. Her retreat from even safe media spaces also, pretty disappointing and it leaves her vulnerable in a general. Still great policies but seems to prefer communication via a panel or a from behind a microphone where she won't have hard questions come at her. That won't fly in a general.

Imagine you are trying to infer the structure of a tree by only know the positions of its leaves. Now imagine doing the same, but only 1/100 of the leaves are above ground.

It's only a small fraction living organisms which remain alive today. Most species and families which have ever been are extinct. And most are so old we could never do DNA work on them. Among the living, we can do some good DNA work and that's made a huge difference. But then go back far enough and there are just massive nonconformities.

Problem is that you need a temperature difference to make the effect go. But ideally I'm imagining a fish that swims around the pot converting heat to work.

Edit after reading: imo I think an article should seek to answer the question it sets out in its title. At the same time that this article reaches into history to try and explain that happening in Victoria it's very shallow in its reach. It also avoids contemporaneous examples.
