  • The like/dislike system is better than stars IMO.

  • Fungi are more closely related to animals than to plants.

  • Eh, the giant panda isn't the best example. It's digestive system is still optimized for meat, which is why the need to eat a lot of bamboo and eat very specific parts of it that have a similar nutritional makeup as meat. They wouldn't be able to survive eating other plants, but they could survive (and thrive) eating meat.

  • That's kinda misleading though. Large molecule PFAS are harmless to us (Teflon for example). It's the small molecule PFAS are dangerous and those aren't really used for any kind of non-stick surfaces.

  • So their dislike of him is just because he isn't white.

  • Doesn't Steam run basically everything, including the client itself, inside the Steam Container Runtime now? No Steam games, native or not, use the system libraries anymore. I know I occasionally need to wait a couple of seconds after an update for it to update the Steam Container Runtime before even starting the client, which makes me think that they run the client in the container as well. I think the only real 32-bit dependency it has on the system is the user space graphics driver.

  • Does run0 use suid? From my understanding, it shouldn't.

  • My go-to has been Fira Code for some time. Just did the test, and Fira Code was the winner. Jetbrains Mono was a close second for me though.

  • Fira Code is my go-to.

  • Not to be dramatic, but what the fuck

  • Easily. Most crops are used for animal feed. For example, 90% of soy grown in the US is sold as animal feed, and all of the soy grown in the Amazon is being sold to the US as animal feed. Not to mention crops like alfalfa that are useless for anything except animal feed that we could swap out for crops humans could eat. We could easily feed the entire world's population with our current crops.

  • We could just eat less fish or stop eating fish completely. There's plenty of crops on land to feed everyone.

  • What headset? Most headsets work fine now. I had some issues with an old WMR headset (HP Reverb G2), but even Windows doesn't support WMR anymore so it's basically dead. Went with a Quest 3 eventually and it works great with WiVRn (ALVR works as well, but it's a bit more clunky).

  • He shared an article about how he's changing the military. The article had the insignia in its thumbnail. I strongly dislike Trump, but this article is dumb.

  • He just shared an article that had the triangle in its thumbnail. This article is dumb.

  • It's comparable to the M4 Pro in memory bandwidth but has way more RAM for the price.

  • For FHD Blu-Rays yes (though IIRC you need to download a file with the list of AACS keys for decryption). For UHD BluRays, you need to get a drive that people have made a custom firmware for and flash the firmware first. This is because UHD drives also have hardware level encryption protection that prevents you from being able to read the discs directly (assuming the firmware is working as intended, hence the need to flash a custom firmware). Realistically, just find a remux torrent. It's much easier.

  • Vapes are way more popular with younger audiences though. I don't think tobacco companies care about getting more people hooked on cigarettes anymore, and they don't need government help to make vaping more popular.

  • CVS MinuteClinic are actual doctors, so they may be covered. That's how I got my HPV vaccines, which would have been $300 per dose if the pharmacist administered it instead. It was free with MinuteClinic.
