  • High Prices Make Textbook ‘Piracy’ Acceptable to Most Students

  • When I was in community college the teachers made homework / quizzes 30% of our grade. That homework was locked behind a pin code that could only be accessed by buying the textbook. Mess up on one test and that was an automatic failure (C's minimum to transfer). COVID came along and I dropped school altogether. Seems its only getting worse. Not sure if I even want to go back.

  • Reddit's been spiraling downhill for years. Been searching for an alternative that's not the cesspits of Twitter and 4chan. API is getting killed, government and corporations pushing agendas, armchair experts, subreddit bannings, poor UI/UX, echochambers, hardly any OC, and many many other issues that I'm sure others have already mentioned. I'm dumping the site as soon as old.reddit goes down.

    There's nothing but outrage culture on social media. Just looking for a spot to chill really...

  • I tend to use it as a basis for when I'm struggling to describe what I'm looking for and don't know the right terminology. Sometimes it gives me the answer I need, others I get a few key words to plug into google or documentation.
