  • When you make it better? Look you can't control the economy, or who runs a big company or country or whatever. But you can control you. How you talk to people, how you spend your time. It doesn't mean trying to be happy all the time. Feelings have very little to do with it actually. Just try to make things a little better, even if it's just your bedroom or trash can.

You might think nobody sees what you do or cares but I promise you'd be wrong.

  • People can have lives AND care about you at the same time

  • She said she wanted a guy that would chase her so...

  • You sign up to their site! When you want to send a card out you get the address of another person who also signed up. You also get a serial number to write on your card.

When that card is delivered the person who recieves it will type in that serial number and can say thank you via the website

  • postcrossing! You send a postcard to a random person and you recieve another random one in return. I started it to use up some cards I had laying around but now when I travel I almost always get cards from the gift shop

  • Damn that's horrible better fall back to Russia then

  • Exactly. A military cargo plane landing somewhere doesn't mean the same as a squadron of fighters.

  • And your hoodies start to disappear

  • The cool thing about transport planes is that they aren't just useful in war. It's a big flying box. Sure it could be sending weapons or troops, but it could just as easily be sending doctors or diplomats or vehicles for a security team. Or nothing, but will be used to take stuff out of the region.

You already payed for the A400M, and it's perfectly suited for sketchy neighborhoods like this since it can carry countermeasures. Why not use it?

  • I heard somewhere that an easy way to try is with cashiers or other staff. You got 30 seconds to chat and if you mess it up you've already got an out and can walk away. Just read the room and make sure they aren't crazy busy of course

  • The yt channel Technology Connections made a video on solar and made a great point that stuck with me

If oil was so precious and valuable and important why do we light so much of it on fire?

  • To look out for incoming golf balls

  • Just like when you feel like not doing anything else, you just get going and sometimes just starting anyway pays off and you get into a good flow

  • So the corporations that make their money on mass surveillance are still spying on people?

    I'm shocked, shocked!

  • yep. Rand calls it neomedievalism, where we're going back to the peasant/noble tiers

  • When your nation falls apart and your city becomes an extensive warzone for years, the main power grid probably isn't top notch. But the sun works just fine!

If it wasn't for oil making the middle east insanely rich, imagine what they could do with solar

  • Yes! There one locally owned station in particular that seems to be thriving. It has no blocks of ads and real DJs. They always seem to be playing new stuff, and they even host small concerts for local artists and guests. They also stream at their site, thesummit.fm

Between them and The Alternation, which is another locally owned station that plays alternative rock, everything else in the area is iHeart Radio blandness. You know the type. Constant ads, playing the same songs over and over, morning shows etc
