Reddit Refugee that moved to lemmy.world

  • I mean.. if the white house were to blow up at the right time it would fix a lot of things.

  • Way back when I was in school a kid tried ramming me on my bike with his, he learned very quickly why that's not a great idea. The rammer will completely lose steering and end up ass over tea kettle the second his front tire touches the other bike. The other bike will be fine unless you also get his front tire, in which case you both will go down.

Only thing the cop could have done is get in front of the other bike and cut it off, hitting the other bike's front tire with his back tire. That would keep him stable and cause the other guy to bite it, which is very dangerous to even try and can really go wrong quick.

  • Are all your door seals ok? I've had a cooler ice up before because one of the seals was letting air through, so when the fans inside would run it basically drew fresh damp air in and froze it to everything.

  • under settings, privacy and security, under cookies and site data (just above the "Clear cookies and site data every time you close Firefox" box) there's "manage exceptions" that will exclude your favorites from getting erased every time.

  • ..so far.

  • Not worth the (potential) bullshit. Besides, we have plenty of awesome stuff up here anyway, and health care for when you find that maybe trying to pet the wildlife was a bad idea.

  • People like that is why we can't have nice things... like glory holes everywhere.

  • It was all fun and games until the Hot Sauce Nation attacked.

  • Welp, I won't be complaining about my electric bill during the winter anymore.

  • Because he's too out of shape to be able to fight a fifth grader?

  • Ah I kinda thought so but that's what the currency converter gave me.

  • Ah that makes sense. Our electricity is mainly hydro electric as well so our system is a fair bit different, and also depends on the time of year for heavy commercial use due to us being buried in snow for half the year lol

  • Here in Canada I pay a flat rate of 9.97 cents per kWh, not sure how that compares to your currency..

    Edit: 1 CAD is 0.62EUR

  • As a Canadian I welcome our new American refugees. Please leave your guns at the door and be sure to grab your free plate of poutine when you arrive.

  • It must have been a crt TV in a last life.

  • Oh I know. Mine finally crapped out a few weeks ago and I'm not happy about the prospect of a new one. I'm hoping to be able to fix it but I haven't had the time to try yet.

  • May this one last you as long as my last one did. (nearly 43 years)

  • Ignore all the noises and idiot lights until it stops moving, then wonder what could have possibly gone wrong.

  • Knowing him, if it didn't quit working entirely he probably would have done just that. A few months later he blew the wheel bearing on his truck and just kept driving it. I had gone over for coffee when he casually mentioned his truck was making noise when he drove so I checked and it was already grinding down on the brake caliper and two tie rods were completely toast. The thing must have steered like a shopping cart, but somehow he didn't think anything of it.
