  • Getting Komga (or Kavita) to work with Calibre-Web file structure?

  • From what I remember I'm my time using Kavita, basically the only way it knows what anything is comes from the file structure. It's called out pretty explicitly in the docs for example.

    Now it's been a year or so for me so maybe now there are options to define your own structure or pick from some but I don't remember any.

  • I would recommend audiobookshelf for the audiobooks, especially if you have your stuff running in docker. It seemed to me like the solutions to force Plex or jellyfin to do books were a bit more hacky than I wanted.

  • I like the enthusiasm but plastics just aren't infinitely recyclable. Always remember the three R's are in order of importance. Reduce first, reuse second, and recycle only if the first two arent plausible.

    Metal is infinitely recyclable as is can be melted down any amount of times. Plastics either break down when heated or need to be mixed with fresh plastic to keep some semblance of the properties of the original product, and even then only so many times before they are just non viable as anything other than trash.

  • In the "Three body problem" one of the main themes is an alien invasion and threat to the entire planet earth. As part of humanities plan to come up with solutions is the idea that any person or company found to be working on any technologies or plans to escape this planet is commiting a crime against the entirety of humanity and are charged accordingly. With the idea being that any effort going towards escape takes away from humanities effort to combat the threat.

    Anyways since I read that I've wondered what it would be like if we treated the threat of climate change that way.
