  • Thank you so much for this suggestion. It's really a great step towards the end of tedious voice messages. Works great but is a bit slow when using the multilang voice model. I don't mind.

  • Mailbox.org is great, I like that you get caldav and carddav as well. They're very privacy conscious as well. It's true the recent price increase doesn't make me happy either. The service is great and I couldn't find a better deal so I stick with them. Except for the price everything is perfect imho

  • Oh that's cool! I tried to take part in their beta but it was a mix of the app wouldn't even start on my phone and when I finally found a version that would I couldn't find my invite key anymore. Guess it's time to give it a second chance :)

    Ich glaube der Knackpunkt ist dass wir nachts die Fenster offen haben und so immer neue Mücken rein kommen wenn es innen lecker Biomüll gibt.. Also vorerst werden wir wohl jeden Abend den Müll runter bringen müssen.

  • Thanks I get what you're saying. I'm thinking more in line of "update hype has died down, everyone goes on vacation - we probably won't play for a few weeks". Either way I'll be able to start it up from my smartphone at anytime so all it takes is a quick chat message to have me start it up :)

  • Interesting, thanks. Although the guide says roughly 10$ for t3.medium (2vCPU 4gb RAM) and I'm paying half of that at my current hoster for comparable specs. Still a cool guide!

  • It's running! I had to use the same Java version but that was basically it. Maybe I'll share the start-up/persistence scripts if they're done soon-ish.

  • Thanks, that's what I assumed. I'm hoping it'll be easy to switch to better specs in the cloud and still affordable, especially if it's easy to spin down the server on demand. We're usually playing "in bursts" of a few weeks..

  • Thx for mentioning infomaniak, I'm looking for alternatives to Mailbox.org as they had to increase their prices. I've tried self hosting but somehow it always has been a hassle, might be just me though. Also mailinabox wasn't around back then. I've got my domain at namecheap, they've got all the tools and a super cheap whoisguard service. Prices depend on the tld you're looking for, so you'll have to look it up.

  • I wouldn't consider it to be super compact, almost two chunks and an estimated 15 block height.. But still possible to hide underground of course. I'll try to hook it up with a fully automated tree farm and some furnaces that keep making charcoal. The charcoal will be nice but I imagine it may be the perfect way to provide xp for repairing single tools. Maybe I'll come up with some logic that can charge a furnace with the exact right amount of xp to fully repair a netherite tool before switching to the next furnace.. I already figured out a compact way to fuel the furnace from underground. It'll make great repair stations spread throughout my base :3

    I'm playing on a server so it could run 24/7 to charge xp, so even a slow rate will be fine.
