Season 2, episode 2, Ad Astra per Aspera is my go to answer for best episodes that I think about. It's clearly inspired by TNGs The Measure of a Man while that episode will always be the best, the SNW episode still scratches that itch.

What piece of media thoroughly disappointed you?

First, The Orville is excellent and for anyone who watches Trek I always recommend The Orville. It's a little crude when it starts, but it's levels out and is really great.

Second, since you didn't mention it, Strange New Worlds is the modern Star Trek in universe show you're looking for.

I completely agree. You also never hear anyone talk about the fourth act. It's basically a weird post-credits scene.

Yes. I started using it years ago and have been unable to exit ever since.

But honestly related to your question, I started learning to use vim exactly because when I started to learn and use Linux I was often stuck in situations where that was the only thing available.

I don't use DoorDash but occasionally order from Taco Bell. Every time I order I watch the car arrive at Taco Bell and wait about 20 minutes before actually picking up my order and then delivering it.

Additionally I know UberEats used to (and maybe still does) offer cheaper delivery if you pick a restaurant another driver was already heading to. (I haven't used UberEats in years because I found them less reliable.)

Ironically if a restaurant did all the deliveries themselves they would have all the information about how best to optimize delivery. Maybe all the delivery companies can find a way to share this information to minimize travel and maximize speed of delivery.

This is basically the "Nintendo strategy".

Nintendo games are only ever released on Nintendo systems. These games almost never go on sale, if they do it's 5 years later and only $10 off.

It sorta sucks, but it clearly works.

It'll be interesting to see if Sony can pull this off as well.

The man is a history buff!
Count Dooku, while perhaps taking things too far, did point out legitimate issues with the Republic. Palpatine is on record as loving Democracy and his new Empire has brought peace and prosperity.
The children are our future. A man simply cares about children. You're making accusations without any proof.

I've put a lot of hours into this game, but haven't played in 8+ years so maybe it's changed a lot. But! There is A LOT to explore and play and I suggest doing that first. But! Unless they've added a bunch of explainer gameplay/tips the you'll need to eventually look up some stuff online.

Using alias of path in commands?

You might find a symbolic link useful. For example

    
ln -s /media/docs ~/docs

Now you'll have a "folder" in your home directory named "docs" that points to "/media/docs". You can use that path with commands like mv or cp.

These commands now both move "myfile" to the same location

    
mv myfile ~/docs
mv myfule /media/docs

I bought Forza Horizon 4 on sale for $20 last year. I think it came with all the DLC or whatever. That seemed like a good price. I played a bunch and I'd say it was worth it. The game really pushes you to pay more money to buy more things, but I just ignored it.

Overall $20 felt right.

I'd buy Forza Horizon 6 or whatever for $20 in a few years.

What.sucks is that it sounds like it's two episodes of the Mando TV series turned into a film.

On paper if you rewind to the end of Mando season 2. Give us a Boba solo story of him wanting to settle down. Give us a Mando one shot adventure "special presentation" without Grogu (basically the story of him hunting down the dog person in Book of Boba), then give us a Boba+Mando+Grogu film. Then give us Mando season 3 rebuilding Mandalore. Then put this as part of Mando season 4??? You'd be golden.

On paper this story works. The execution has been all over the place.

Based on the reviews this is going to be a mid film that will probably do well on Disney+. But as a theatrical film? It's fine.

Sure, but is this actually a good idea?

The argument would be that these "short form videos" improve discoverability. I can't speak for Netflix (since I'm not subscribed), but I am subscribed to Disney+. I completely agree that the discoverability in the Disney+ app is bad. But I'm also subscribed to Hulu, which is now owned (fully) by Disney. The discoverability in Hulu is actually pretty good.

Everything that is "Disney+ Exclusive" is only available using Disney+. Everything that is "Hulu Exclusive" is available on both Hulu and Disney+. So Disney+ has everything I want, but the app sucks.

The plan is by the end of 2026 to turn down the Hulu app and only use the Disney+ app. So, is Disney improving the Disney+ app? Nope, they're adding "Verts".

This is what bothers me. If you have an interesting idea to improve your app, do that. If you're just chasing the current flavor of the week, stop. Spend that time doing something useful.

I don't want to undersell how excited I am for Doomsday, but if I could pick which one to watch tomorrow I'd pick VisionQuest in a heartbeat.

WandaVision is probably the strongest MCU show and it was followed by one of the best that is Agatha All Along. I can only assume this is the next big step in the story and I'm here for it.

[DISCUSSION] [SPOILERS] The Punisher: One Last Kill

So first off. Judging this as exactly what it is, a Punisher one shot story, I enjoyed it. I think the idea of Frank killing off most of a crime family, leaving behind one person, and that person feeling the same way Frank does and taking revenge. That works well.

Frank is his own worst enemy. Everything that happens is Frank's "fault".

I also think that Frank basically being unsure what is real but making the choice to save the little girl and her family shows that while Frank may seem out of it and unsure what is real... When it comes down to it he knows what he needs to do. If Frank were just a killing machine with no thoughts, he would have killed Ma Gnucci. His choice to save shows his humanity. Frank knows what he's doing.

Second. Why was Ma Gnucci injured? I figured we would have seen Frank at least accidentally injure her. I would have liked an extra bit of story where Frank creates the monster that is Ma Gnucci. He doesn't have to be solely responsible, I think it's clear she has a warped sense of reality. She ignores her husbands deeds, she ignores her youngest child's likely crimes. There is at least something I would have liked to see play out.

Third. This was a weird one off. It doesn't feel like a continuation of Daredevil Born Again season 1. This feels like a story that exists between Daredevil and Daredevil Born Again.

Also last we saw Frank at the end of Daredevil Born Again he killed a dude and broke out. After breaking out he was absent from all of Daredevil season 2, and this is where he is? It doesn't really seem to fit.

While I can only judge Frank from the trailers, his next appearance is Spider-Man? I have Ma Gnucci questions. Is Ma Gnucci in Spider-Man? Tonally that looks like a very different Frank Castle compared to the one I just watched.

That felt like the pilot episode to a show that isn't going to exist. Alternatively... New Punisher TV show to be announced soon?
