Not sure what's scarier, a the sound of a little terror drone before an explosion.
Or the silence, the feeling of security that there's nothing on a recently cleared path and then seeing my mates vehicle blow up.
Yup. Been there, done that :)
Although, if you come in as a Westerner, I do recommend buying a genuine Honda. The hassles your save yourselves compared to the cheap Chinese clones are worth the "premium".
Mind you, you can buy good used bikes for well below 500 USD. A new Wave 110i is just under 1100 USD in Thailand.
Yup. One issue from long storage is that the fuel in solid fuel rockets can start to separate. Ryan McBeth did an explanation on a possible cause on that AA missile failure.
As you mentioned, some explosives also become unpredictable. The Takata airbags sending shrapnel into drivers faces comes to mind.
I suspect the failure rate goes up. Have you seen the video of the Russian AA missile pretending to be a boomerang 🪃 and flying back to its launch point?
Yeah that sucks on a lovely Goldwing.
Sadly tip overs happen to the best of us. At least in this case it was the wind. I drop my bike manoeuvring out of my garage. Usually because the kick stand goes up just enough to not hold tue bike when I try to put in on the stand (I have to move it from the right as the wall is on the left).
I hope a replacement pannier isn't going to be too expensive🤞if you intend on fixing the scratches.
Maybe it's an opportunity for customization with vinyl decals? Make it truly your own. Maybe a map where you mark all the places you've ridden so far?
Absolutely. In a perfect world, we would supply enough MRAPs, Busmasters and similar vehicles to Ukrainian infantry.
Unfortunately we don't have enough for our own needs. The Australian military still has G-Wagons.
We do have plenty of M113's and Humvees.
Sure, they're not as good as the bigger troop transpors, but: what are the alternatives?
Usually unarmoured technicals. Realistically speaking, we don't even have enough of those! I donated to NAFO's 69th sniffing brigade to buy vehicles.
If I was there, I'd rather sit in a Humvee or M113 than in a technical.
Seems to have been converted to become a convertible. Did you find any instructions to replicate this mod if I find a stock laptop?
