  • Yes the report button is great and helps mods a lot, but the issue is that at the moment I don’t see any rule a comic would violate when it is as the op describes safe and relatable but made by an outspoken transphobe. The question seems to be do we need or want a rule against supporting transphobia indirectly by giving the artist free cloud. Because removing the artist name is a violation of the communities rules.

  • I would say don’t supply transphobes with free exposure and would option for the third option. Though checking and controlling for the political views of each artist may be too much work to put onto the mod team and would have to be on the poster.

    Personally I am also biased against transphobes and would love it, if they would not be posted at all.

  • What is Sephora? I find an online shop for makeup with that name but could not see the tool on my quick check. I have definitely a closer look and more thorough search later.

    The more I read about makeup the more convinced I am that you need a diploma to tell all these things apart :X

  • Yea I am also hoping to get that deal of approval, but the more time I spent here, the more I open up and talk about it the more confidence I get that I am indeed trans.

  • While sex is in it it was never the focus of it imho. I love the series but I do think ppl. do somewhat overstate the amount of sex that is happening. Sure it gets to be a tad bit more frequent in the later books but is not the main focus. The world building is amazing and the story is fantastic. So even if you are not too into the whole sex/romance stuff you ca enjoy the series.

  • There is nothing in the books itself that is anti trans (AFAIK and remember), it is that people equate her works with her political views which are anti trans. As a most likely trans person myself (still working out the details of it, stay tuned) I have a real struggle at my hands. On the one hand her books were a massive part of my childhood and early teens. I waited in line out side book stores to get the newest one. On the other hand she uses the money she gets from licenses and the IP to fund anti trans organisations. She also uses her fame / reach to spread TERF points of view. I enjoy and love the world she created back then but I cannot in good conscience consume anything that supports her now. Not any merch, series, film or game.

    I on my ow may not make a difference but the sum is more than it parts. If enough ppl. start voicing their objection to her and her views, boycott the new stuff because of her, some change might be possible. If not, sacrificing something I loved growing up is an acceptable price to pay to keep me and others safe.

  • Thanks, I will get back to you once I hade my first hand on experience. Any tips on how to judge what is a good fit and what is not? Because ATM whenever I see myself I am not exactly happy with the face and I worry it will transfer over to when I try make up for the first time, as in that I will be hypercritical or not a good / reliable judge of what I see.

  • I hope you get one that’s great for you too! I was really fortunate to hit a therapist that works so well with and for me right of the bat, without hassle. I heard a few too many stories of ppl. Having to swap their therapist a couple of times before they found the right one and at least so far I think she has been amazing!

    Edit: also I am happy to hear you like the coat! Hopefully it fits me well :)

  • Thanks! Yes I was very tempted to buy the purple one as well but my financially more responsible wife told me to choose one.. I apologise that I may have fed your addiction so I strongly recommend do not click on other products on the side or you will be left wanting for more. I still have about 40 items on my wishlist there :X

    The session was great, we made good progress but it is really hard to do each topic justice in just 45 min at a time. There is such sooooo much I want and need to talk about. Kinda wants me to have a second and third therapist :D distribution of labour so to speak.

  • I always loved the Bartimaeus books from Jonathan Stroud.

    I also think if pop culture catch-up is a concern you could read Twilight and Eragon both were quite influential in my social circle at the time they were new. I have read both and I liked them too. I don’t think that they are revolutionary or the best pice of writing but they had arguably an impact.

  • Question About Moving To a Different Place

  • Hm I don’t think there is a 100% guaranteed safe way of transportation. How does the Uni (I presume because of dormitory) handle parcels? If they hold onto them for a while you can sent it there.

    I would also consider bringing maybe only the bare minimum / only those who appear to be least likely to break (fewest small things that stand out like spears, flags, long thing weapons etc.)

    You can also just buy a whole army there :X would provide excellent procrastination opportunities.

  • Could you rent a storage box / post box where you move to and sent them there before you leave? I never used such a service though.

    You could also check how the new country handles parcels. In mine they don’t sent them to your home and all parcels are always in a post-office / supermarket who handles the parcels. Allowing you to have them sent there and they hang on to the parcels for up to two weeks.

    Could you also not pack them with the rest of your items, or is everything in suitcases on the plane? Like do you plan on buying all furniture or kitchen stuff there?
