  • They're so close, probably should have just made them the same size.

  • It's a nice watch, glad you like it.

  • If AI can write, direct, act, and stage the movie then what is the production company for?

If everything can be done by computer, then one small shop can type the idea into some cloud service and spit out a movie just as easily as Disney.

Sure, for a couple years things might be proprietary, but just like every other software innovation, it'll quickly trickle down to everyone else and then the only thing left for a studio to do is marketing.

  • Y'all in here making some serious assumptions. There's nothing in the title that implies which of the people in the picture is talking.

  • That's actually not true, and framework has similar issues. There was vampire power drains from certain mix and match options with HDMI and USB-C ports.

On the AMD framework, the upper right and left USB-C ports are slightly different from the lower ports

I love my framework laptop, but we shouldn't pretend that they are free from quirks that plague other brands.

  • Yay! Another megacorp to water down anything unique about these megaproperties!

  • bonus: if their parents are attractive, you have a potential thruple opportunity to fall back on if the relationship sours.

  • I'm confused, why does this tide clock use a 10/20 hour duration instead of a 6/12?

  • Posting anything by James Bruton here is just cheating. :)

Seriously though, his channel is really interesting, he doesn't go into much about the actual 3d printing aspect of it, in terms of design or printing, but he does a lot of in general discussions about using 3d printing in the wider context of design and engineering.

I think his two biggest takeaways are:

    1. printing the big bulky parts separately from the smaller, tolerance critical parts, so you can adjust fitment without having to print the big thing again.
    2. where you can use 3d prints, and where you need to use other material. Like combining extruded aluminum, or wood/plywood to make parts strong, and specific.
  • Eventually, Disney is going to own all of corporate media. Your choices are going to be bland, flavorless, Disney mass market appeal, or independent cinema.

There just needs to be a better way to market and distribute independent media.

  • Yeah, it would suck to find out there was a bunch of nazis building a community on your server, and you just didn't have any idea it was happening.

  • Up until a few years ago, Illinois, and especially Chicago, had politicians and leaders who thought themselves untouchable, and acted that way. This caused a lot of problems for Illinois, including the pension issue, political appointments, funding, selling off things to private businesses for kickbacks, etc.Luckily the corrupt politicians also were sloppy enough to get caught regularly. Just looks at how many of the recent governors were convicted felons.Michael Madigan and the Daily family were the poster children for corruption in Illinois. Since Democrats were the majority party, they kept control over the government for a very long time. Eventually, Madigan overplayed his hand, but the damage was done.

The state is finally starting to recover from the corruption, and Pritzker is actually doing a surprisingly good job as Governor, but the previous administrations were so damn evil.

  • Close, it means - "I'm not admitting guilt under these specific circumstances." They could be working out a plea deal with the prosecution for a specific sentence, or a dozen other things up to, and including the "prove it" gamble.

  • I assume you have separate supervisors? Can you ask your supervisor to tell their supervisor to stop stealing their people (or at least pick other ones sometimes)? That should be their main role, working with staffing issues across areas.

  • Great write-up! This was a lot of fun to read and you clearly put in a lot of effort.
