  • Sorry, maybe I should have added a warning text and used spoiler.

  • Wasn't it Desmond in the office building? Anyway, this time Black Flag will only be in the pirate world. But they will change some parts from the original game so I'm kind of 50/50 if this game will be good or not. We'll see when it is released.

  • Desmond will not be in this game.

  • I have had less issues (perhaps zero issues, I don't remember any) with Proton than with Mullvad. With Mullvad I couldn't post here on Lemmy, for example. Otherwise I trust Mullvad more but usability is also important. And during the black week I got a very good price for 2 years of Proton.

  • I can't comment on the vehicle-miles per acre but solar panels in Minnesota should produce plenty of energy from March-April until September-October. Many Germans have solar panels and Minnesota is south of Germany which means they have even more sun.

  • It has DDR4 so it uses the AM4 platform which means that the CPU is several years old. I'm sure it is a consequence from the RAM prices, DDR4 has not increased as much as the DDR5.

  • Or Librewolf, which is a fork from Firefox and removes the telemetry that Firefox collects.

  • I don't think there are any EU laws on how companies needs to handle customer reviews. But maybe it should be.

  • I have had two pair of shoes made in EU, Myrqvist and Wojas. I have not had the shoes from Wojas for a long time but so far they seem to be good. The shoes from Myrqvist was wearing down a bit fast than I hoped for.

  • Do you only update once per week? Doesn't sound very Arch.

  • I bought sneakers from Wojas recently. Polish brand and as I understand it they are produced in Poland.

  • Dan should not reject a medium girlfriend who like to bake cookies, then he will have an endless supply of warm cookies.

  • Interesting, didn't know about Servo. Is it used by any browser or other program?

  • Proton is bigger than Mullvad in number of users, servers, employees, revenue. Mullvad is a great VPN but they are a smaller company.

I'm not defending them, just trying to find a reason, except for level of commission paid, for why they would list them in this order.

  • Interesting article, it seems they have switched: Microsoft Office -> open-source equivalent (they didn't mention any which alternative in the article) Teams -> OpenTalk Microsoft Exchange and Outlook -> Open-Xchange and Thunderbird

And this year they will move to Linux, I'm surprised that they are not using more programs/tools or maybe they already work in Linux. I assumed libraries had one program for their books in the library and another program for ordering books, the police had several programs etc.

But when I think about it, what is a state in Germany responsible for? And this switch, is it only on state level or will the municipalities in Schleswig-Holstein also switch to open source?

  • Proton is bigger than Mullvad, so more people have heard about them and might see them as a good alternative. For the VPN providers it doesn't really matter since it was only 4 alternatives, but they might add more alternatives in the future.

  • That makes a lot more sense. When I was reading PCD I was thinking about a private device, even if they don't have much space and even less time I was thinking that they might bring a few small private things. Like a photo of their family, maybe a book etc.

  • Why is NASA remotely connecting to the tablet if it is a personal device?
