  • Oh Skyrim is on the Switch 2. But it runs so poorly and it's so unoptimized that it makes it not worth the Switch 2 version upgrade. I'm just going to wait and see if they re-release it again haha.

  • I honestly want to play skyrim on the Switch 2, but I won't because the input controls function so poorly and the framerate is subpar. I was excited for when we got the boost in power on the Switch 2 but Bethesda fumbled it. Hopefully they do fix Skyrim and that they launch Fallout 4 in a good state with a gold framerate.

  • Honestly there isn't really a difference between it being a digital license and a subscription. The service for both can go down and there would be no way to play them officially. There is Emulation but the average person wouldn't really seek it out. It would mainly be the enthusiast that seeks out emulation.

    The sub is bundled with the online play servers and you get a few extra perks for it. Nintendo is a business and server maintenance and costs aren't free, now if they made it to where you need to pay a separate sub for the classic games then I would be upset and agree with you.

    That is the benefits of having physical media, which is why I fully support physical releases. I don't like game key cards for the same reasons why I don't like digital. But if they bring classic games back with a subscription, it's still a net benefit for those who use NSO since most game libraries are available.

  • Honestly it's difficult to find these old consoles and games. A sub for them wouldn't be too bad since most people don't really play them that much. It's more for the normies that don't know much about Emulation honestly.

    Plus the sub is reasonably priced compared to the prices of Pay-station and MicroSlops Xbox core. I introduced some folks into the world of Emulation due to the sub funnily enough.

  • BCH and BTC are two different currencies with two different ways to handling payments. I use BTC in my daily life and have no issue using it as a currency. Even without the Lightning Network I am still able to use it as my daily currency since merchants in my area are okay with 1 conf transactions. One did not hijack the other, it was just a disagreement of two different kind if views that blossomed two different currencies. Also Bankers didn't pump Bitcoin, it was just open hype during the pandemic and it followed suit once more people understood how the concept of Bitcoin worked. It could have happened to BCH if it was in the same spotlight.

  • They are both electronic cash systems that use two fundamentally different approaches. If someone took over 51% of the hashrate then that's someone hijacking the network. If you fork off of it, it becomes a separate currency based on the concept of Bitcoin. I am also very weary of Roger Ver, so we can't take his word for gospel just like we can't take Adam backs or Jameson Lopps word.

    Also there is no one true "Bitcoin" there are different types of currencies built upon the concept of Bitcoin.

  • There wasn't a Hijacking though, there was a split and both became two different currencies. But it seems like it has the same issues as Bitcoin as well.

  • Kaspa isn't VC funded though, it had a fair launch and there were no coins preallocated to anyone. It is proof of work and requires to be mined.

  • Hey if you're still needing some XMR, I can see if I can sell you some for some Litecoin. I want to build my Litecoin position, but I don't have the mining equipment for it yet. Also Retoswap, and Bisq, and Eigenwallet are really good options. (Eigen wallet doesn't support Litecoin sadly)

  • I am curious on how the miners will be paid once the subsidies are complete since the transaction fees are so low. I'm learning more about BCH and I want to see if it's worth me providing hashrate for the network.

  • Have you checked out Kaspa? It's a pretty good option too once the L2 for Smart contracts is more mature. Its also POW and it had a fair launch like BCH, and BTC.

  • If you are Bitcoin only I recommend building a SeedSigner from scratch and using Nunchuk as the interface for the wallet. They're both open source and have been thoroughly vetted. Don't keep your entire stack on Tails on a Hot wallet as there could be a point to where you can accidentally catch something on said instance of Tails and have your funds taken. (Highly improbable, but the risk is still there) 

    As for the Ledger recover stuff, I personally have vetted it and checked a couple of things to see if it's truly something to worry about. So from how it works is that it creates shards that require approval from your hardware wallet that only is in effect if you build said sharding and export. Then it will send your shards through E2EE methods to said partners of which they can't reconstruct your key without needing the core to unlock your wallet. Of which you must approve through ledger recover on either their app or custodial service. They cannot remotely break your keys into shards without permission since it requires the secure element to activate and have your manually approve it for it go through. With all that said it is wise to use multiple hardware wallet vendors to minimize risk when you're storing your keys. You could always go for air gapped solutions if you want to use hardware wallets without the keys being stored on them.
