  • ahh, maybe it's a bug

  • maybe they meant adding domains for free, most free hosts don't allow you to use custom domains for free and require a paid plan for that. so could be that OP is willing to pay for the domain itself but not for using it, which is fair

  • may I ask how you found it ? really curious why it's getting comments so many months later 😅

  • If google is giving out top level domains for free now then it is a market dominance strategy because nobody else can do it I think.

I don't they do, they only give free subdomains

  • what about wordpress.com ? (yeah, it's different but by the same developers)

  • something to use, also this is an old post lol 🙃. I eventually settled on codeberg but I'm open to suggestions

  • Jump
  • what would you suggest in its place ?

  • You can still install it manually by downloading the extension file.

    except on android :(

  • will it not be possible to register those domains again ?

  • wait, really ?

  • Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

Is there a lemmy equivalent of r/internetisbeautiful ?

  • damn that theme is nice

  • just don't pay attention to the crypto stuff, but otherwise it's alright. it gets its results from other search engines

  • Windows 7 ??

  • for visibility, also codeberg is quite hostile to piracy related tools and whatnot, gitea is quite small not many instances and it gets unwanted attention. if they self-host, that's even more risky because domain names, hosting etc can get tracked down to the owner. decentralized solutions are the best for these kind of things

  • agreed, although the fact that you can't block brave's crawler (if I had to guess, I'd say they're probably using the same user-agent as Google to disguise their crawler) and they give "rights" to the data is a bit troubling. also maybe the API doesn't include the citations ? in any case, it is suspicious they managed to make such a good search engine in so short a time, there is more than meets the eye...

  • that's only for iOS/MacOS

  • only for r/piracy megathread

  • Android @lemmy.ml

    F-droid app ?

  • Lemmy Support @lemmy.ml

are there more themes for lemmy ?
