I live near a big city. I like tourism for the city because it has the infrastructure to handle it. Some tourists come farther out and that is fine but you don't want the same numbers as downtown go to some smaller town in the vinicity because it simply does not have that level of infrastructure. Also organized things are easier like concerts or such.

yeah im on firefox and getting going on waterfox or libre fox is a goal. I just got onto bazzite and need to moves some stuff over and I take a long time to do things though because there are so many things to do.

I have been out of work for almost two years. Now granted I have been substitute teaching but to me that is out of work as its ad hoc and a pittance. I agree with a combination of some responses. You have to look into any assitance out there. If your in the us I know this can be daunting because nothing is really out there to even help you get started. Check at every level. Your town/city, township, county, state, federal. There is not much but anything at this point helps. It sucks but you will have to put in an inordinate amount of time both getting and micromanaging the thing because of how it works in the us and it will be worth less than minimum wage in most cases with the work you put in but it results in something as compared to resumes which may never result in anything. Next as another person said you have to only spend for necessities. rent, basic utilities, food. I often mention having zero disposable income because until I get a job that is the case. I mean there are a ton of stupid little purchases that im desperate to make but don't. Finally obviously you look for work both a real job that gets you back into the black and pickup work that will work for you. Unfotunately we have a situation, at least near me, where many people are looking for work. Then fight the crippling depersion as much as you can and look for help with things like that. So far though I have not been able to find any sources that actually do anything that might help. There is like phone numbers and such but ultimately you need the right insurance things or such.

I have felt the same for awhile honestly sans the could reitre today. I may have been spoiled though because I used to workin a research lab and then corpo jobs were fine but man the meetings and sudden change in technology for no other reason than its the current fad. I think though its just hard to do something full time for decades and still find it fun at home. One of the things though is as an IT guy I stopped configuring my systems because it was kinda tiresome and so often I had to know how the default was because that is what I would have to help people with. So I limited it to things I just could not live without but did not get to minutia about it. Then I got sorta sick up spinning things up and started going with what was easiest. mac's when their warranty would just cover anything and then back to windows and even with linux I use easy to setup stuff. I just want it to work and not spend a whole lot on making it work anymore.

Im not working and can't say I ever had all that nice a perk with any job. I mean wfh at times and if its located in the city its a nice city. I loved working in a research lab as it is just so interesting and varied. What cracks me up is places being like we are so much better than others but they are basically par for the course. Oh lots of swag from the research lab job to. Funny thing is I did not like to travel and always was good being at home base but may have ended up with more swag than everyone else because everyone would bring me some back.

on the third point the it was the anesthiesa professional group which made the push for the much more rigorous process that greatly improved outcomes. So there is some precedence for the profession realizing it needs to improve processes.

I agree. Same thing with truckers driving to long. Part of it is the culture. The worst is when they get out of medical with residency and such. Its that frat type of. I had to do it so so should they.

the thing about linux is it depends what you put on it. there are lightweight distros. that being said if you can put an ssd in something do it as nothing outside of more ram when you are maxing it improves it as much as an ssd. I mean im sure if you go back far enough in cpu the drive may no longer be the bottleneck.

I had self directed time. moved over to a new (for me) laptop with bazzite on it. would have been much quicker except for a thing I thought was appimage but was chrome.

yeah would be great if that was my particular thing. I overwrote windows and use an older machine for windows currently. I will need a new drive but I don't really want to go into details with the niche thing im doing. Im actually moving from an ubuntu child distro to bazzite. a big issue was how appimages would work and I thought I had a big issue until I finally realized its an issue with how google does chrome. its looking good. taking a sit down before I finish it off. the chrome issue seems to be fixed by killing various caches it keeps btw (or for someone who comes across this and kinda has the same issue).

Much of this is normal for guys from my own and other guys experiences. Heck my wife is the kind to point out other chicks. What Im not sure if any girl is going to but I can say that like if a girl has a low cut top it becomes really annoying talking with them. I have to like lock onto their forehead or such because if it comes into visual ranges its almost impossible not to look at it without an act of will. Ill tell ya to im like an old guy. old enough anyway. So the hormones or whatnot do not go away. I mean honestly most sitcoms make fun of the horny guy thing all the time. That does not come from no where. SNL actually had this skit where it was supposed to be a new syle of mens pants where there was a window to show like the area around where the cock and balls meet without showing all of any of it and then the guys where telling the girls. hey my eyes are up here.

Im torn on this. We have plenty of buildings with no parking here and people seem to live there and park on the street. I think I would prefer to get rid of street parking than with residencies. Thing is though is you have where the parking is allowed to be seperate from the units so you get people owning and renting the parkin seperately and people with units still parking in the street. They should require the spot to be part of the unit and you should be allowed to keep a shed in the spot and store stuff in it.
