  • I don't need it, I have their full size C64, but I would love to have it, despite the fact that I can play it on the go on a bunch of retro handhelds already. My wallet will probably get over it at some point... It does spark joy...

  • I'm not a fan of treble bleeds. I use a lot of fuzz pedals and they mess with the vintage fuzzes like fuzz faces and tonebenders. My Fatoumata Diawara SG has treble bleed circuits on its pickups and finding a fuzz that pairs well with it is a pain.

  • Thanks, it's the sea foam green from Crimson guitars. The body was already heavily grounded, and I wasn't able to sand it all off, which gives it a worn look. It's not what I was going for, but I do love it.

Some upgrades to my DIY guitar

  • Paranoid, the only Ozzy era Black Sabbath record missing in my collection. I promised myself not to buy it online, but it's a challenge to find a good copy.

  • I was looking for it for a long time, but I was weak and ordered it from Discogs. No regrets.

  • The .73 nylon Dunlops are perfect for me. Great for riffing and when you bend them a bit between your fingers, they are more stiff for precision work. I played with 1mm tortex picks for years, but I really dislike them these days.

  • You had me at Dinosaur Jr sound!

  • This has been on my wishlist for quite some time now. How are the P90s?

  • Yeah, I need to find something for the headstock. I'll work on the pickguard as well. I bought a mint green one, but it was way to green. I saw a cool Hendrix parchment one, but the angle of the bridge pickup is reversed, and that won't fit in the body cavity. I'll probably end up relicing this one.

  • It plays like a dream, low action, near perfect fretwork. I spent more time on the setup than I'd like to admit, but it was worth it.

  • Maybe for a future build, but for now I'm happy with how it turned out. I still have half a bottle of stain, so who knows.

    My first DIY guitar

  • I've been using the Sonicake audio interface for a year or so. No complaints so far, especially for the money, but I think the Focusrite has some more features.

  • I've been using FreshRSS for years, because of it's flexibility and customization options. I switched to Nextcloud News for a while, since I'm already running Nextcloud anyhow and it's convenient, but it was far too buggy and missed some quality of life features FreshRSS has.

Also, I use Capy Reader on Android and that app is just perfect, with the same flexibility, plus it lets you read articles in the app, without opening the web page.

  • I am on the latest version, and my settings appear to be correct. I also tried disabling all other plugins, but to no avail. Maybe I'll dive into it this weekend, if I feel like it.

    Thanks for responding anyhow.

  • I like the idea of having YouTube in my FreshRSS instance, but I can't get the setting correct. I selected that I only want the layout in my YouTube category, but it's still everywhere. Also, when I open a YouTube item, it looks the same as any other article. I do have a bunch of other layout related extensions enabled, so it might be because of that.

I like it, but I'll need to play with it a bit more and try to get it to work.

  • I noticed that when you're on a page of a band with a background picture, it takes the background from that band when you open the play queue. Could that be what happened?

  • Funny, Paradise Lost is also at the top of my list. Ascension is one of the best records they ever made.

  • Having worked in an international environment for over a decade makes me 99% sure that OP speaks Portuguese.

  • One of the few great "remakes", in the sense that it doesn't try to copy the original, bit reimagines the story.
