  • I say "Fetty verse" when I'm talking about a few lines from the song Trap Queen

  • Actually it's seeming a bit better rn but won't know if it is fixed until checking in a few hours and seeing if the feed has changed

  • I am now seeing a few new posts mixed in with the same old ones every once in a while, but 7 times out of 10 when I refresh it's just the same 20 posts.

  • Thank you! For all you do for the instance!

  • Is Anyone else experiencing an issue where for the last 6 days, the Scaled view of all instances hasn't been updated and is only showing the same posts? Many with only one upvote and no comments. A post of a song called Polonaise No. 2 and a news story about neurodivergent kids helping each other are always at the top (as posts I remember off the top of my head) and the others have been the same too. Might this be an instance issue or am I the only one experiencing it? And is there a quick solve in either case? Thanks so much!

  • My friend doordashed a slurpee from 7/11, and I've always wondered who made that slurpee. Did the delivery person have to make and deliver it, or did the clerk have to come out from behind the bullet proof glass to make someone else a slurpee?

  • Learn only to change the topic if the previous one has concluded naturally or there's a silence long enough to make a new question (eg, you seen that new movie?) seem like less of a non sequitur and more of an invitation to discuss something else common. Beyond that, it's just about finding friends with diverse interests who are down for wide-ranging conversations.

Also, try forcing yourself to value some small talk and not just think to yourself "ahhhh this is pointless and/or I already know where it's going!" Cuz hey, if someone is a friend, I'm willing to hear what they think about the weather, and maybe they'll surprise you once in a while. Recognize it as something others are genuinely looking for and that you can provide (and come to enjoy!) rather than a burden or annoyance you have to go through, a sorta fake it to make it thing for us folks whose brains are go go go.

  • Looks tasty, but if I received that at even a fast casual restaurant, I'd never go back. If I made it for myself at midnight and it tasted good, I'd be real happy. But a packaged sausage on a piece of supermarket sliced bread isn't something I'd pay for at a restaurant. I think it's the relatively clean white plate and symmetry that's giving your friend restaurant vibes, but he should also maybe go to better restaurants.

  • What movie?

  • Didn't feel anything good, or didn't feel anything sore? If I got back from a walk and I wasn't feeling my knee, I'd call it a win.

  • Looks tasty! Is that a red porgy?

  • To answer the latter half of your question, no, people will not think you're cool for doing this. Some will be majorly put off by it. Some miiight not be entirely too cringed out by it, but they still won't think you're cool just cuz of this. Your best bet is to be yourself and find the people who think that's cool, whether that includes talking oldtimey or not.

How old oldtimey are we talking btw? Just out of curiosity lol
