  • How do you change the heart of a bigot? You start by admitting to your own flaws so they don't see you as a blind hypocrite. You can cope all you want about that opinion not displaying intolerance; the entire point of the post is to deny the reality of how propaganda affects people and cast a huge swath of people as fundamentally bad. That is the exact structure of ableism, which I sincerely hope we can agree on as an example of intolerance.

Tolerance is not a paradox, it's a social contract. Those who abide by it should be protected by it, those who do not abide by it should not. People who break the contract should be socially sanctioned, but "you and people like you are fundamentally bad people" goes well beyond the point of being a social sanction into just being bare intolerance itself. Tolerance includes forgiveness, and while that shouldn't be given freely, it shouldn't be off the table either.

  • I usually stir fry after that, or just crumble it up with no extra preparation and add to salads or things that need texture. Dehydrating with the air fryer instead of the normal way leaves a bit of an almost cooked layer on the skin of the tofu, idk that I'd bake it because of that. That being said, it is the lowest possible effort method of dehydrating tofu*. If you have 2 minutes to slice a brick of tofu in 3 sheets and then throw that into an air fryer, try it out and see what you think!

Edit: *in the amount of time I usually plan meals in advance, which was previously never long enough to include tofu in meals

  • Somewhat tangential but air fryer dehydrate cycles are perfect for draining tofu too. I slice my tofu bricks into tofu sheets, throw them into the air fryer on dehydrate for an hour and a half, and they come out perfectly ready to cook with

  • What a bigoted opinion.

Propaganda didn't cause this, your problems are a personal moral failing and you should just try being different!

Depression didn't cause this, your problems are a personal moral failing and you should just try being different!

Nothing will ever get better if leftists are more interested in displaying their personal flavor of bigotry than they are in unity

  • I hate organized religion with a passion. You bet your ass I was "catholic" when my grandfather passed and I was helping my grandmother with the funeral though. Im an atheist, not an asshole. I'm sure if their imaginary friend actually exists they can forgive me for pretending to believe to console my grieving grandmother

  • I didn't know that was a thing. I'm about as ignorant as it gets when it comes to eye health or corrective lenses or similar, as the lucky operator of two eyes that can read things from further away than most other eyes. Or at least, they could when I was younger, haha. I know it's a "world's smallest violin" situation, but it's upsetting to go to the optometrist because my vision is getting worse and be told "it's still better than average, I can't help you." I did not bring up the night driving thing though, as I just assumed that's what lights through glass at night looked like to everybody before I saw this post

  • Wait what? I was born with 20/15 vision, to the point that optometrists basically tell me to fuck off when I go in and tell them my vision is getting worse and I want to correct it. The bottom picture is how night driving has looked my entire life though

  • I "eat" huel meal replacement shakes for like 20-50% of my meals depending on how busy I am at any given time. They're functional as food, and the caffeine ones are super convenient as they replace breakfast and hot coffee. It is by far and away the most boring food you will ever "eat" though, and moving to a liquid calorie diet can cause some digestive discomfort. Especially if you dont get enough fiber, which is statistically likely as the vast majority of people dont get enough fiber.

  • I get flashbacks if I ever see VBA excel syntax in the wild. The horror... the horror

  • Peppers and tomatoes can do this too. I used to grow tomatoes and habaneros in the same raised garden bed, and the tomatoes always came out with quite the kick

  • This is like the platonic ideal of a ham sandwich

  • Not a pizza story, but I used to deliver for jimmy johns. I took an order one time to an address that was in an area with a bunch of individual doctors offices, and this address looked like it had a small lobby just like any of those doctors offices. I walked right into this family's living room while they were having some kind of get together, they asked what the hell I was doing, and i turned bright red and held up the box of sandwiches. It ended up alright; I explained myself, then they asked me to take a picture with them and joked about delivery so good they didnt even have to get off the couch. In retrospect, I realized I basically just broke and entered in a stand your ground state and got super lucky the family was chill about it

  • It makes sense if you read all the red speech bubbles and then go back and read the blue ones. Each character is monologuing, not having a conversation

  • Okay first of all, it's a graviton Lance and you're supposed to aim it into a flux ewaonarion chamber.

Is this before or after you use it to boil water and make steam?

  • I feel you. I'm so fucking sick of the scam based economy we (I'm assuming you're also in the US based on the vibe of your comment; apologies if I'm wrong) live in. I don't have a family, I can only imagine how much more difficult things are right now for people who do.

It makes me feel like the only path forward in terms of improving any facet of human life is to push the kleptocrats and oligarchs currently running things out of power. That's honestly one of my goals going to law school; I want to work in politics in some fashion and try to change that. I see some of the anti-oligarchy politicians that have had success or at least a lot of news coverage lately and that gives me some hope for the future. I absolutely hate the idea of being a politician, but I hate the idea of allowing the people currently in charge to remain in charge even more.

  • I feel this. 5 years ago I was a radar engineer making ~200k/yr. Today I'm unemployed and just submitted an application to a law school. I love technology and I'd love nothing more than to continue working in STEM fields, but I just cant justify it when the torment nexus is the only project those in charge are willing to fund. I cant bring myself to continue letting the rich harm people with technology I make, hopefully I can at least get involved with the law and try to create conditions where people in the future can work on tech without building the torment nexus
