  • Normal sports in your 40s could become extreme!

  • Russia cannot even conquer all four regions their declared theirs, how could it be a threat to Western Europe (Russia is Europe too)?

  • Just try things. I mean a lot of things.

You will discover that you love doing things you would never expect to love. You will also find that things that are fun on paper are pretty boring to you when you do it.

  • Replacing a display in a laptop is a routine operation for IT companies hardware teams. So it should be easy to find a shop that replaces the display.

What We Know About Mamdani’s First Planned City-Owned Grocery Stores

  • Liquirice roots are a better option in my opinion, but if it works for them I have no problem.

  • You can find an example of such operations here:

Last summer, after Old Joe Biden was forced out of running for reelection and Kamala Harris was anointed as the Democrat candidate for president, the far left’s propaganda arm (that is, the establishment media) made a massive push to make this failed vice president and longtime party hack seem new and appealing. A key part of this effort was a gaggle of young “influencers” who took to Instagram and TikTok with an enthusiastic pro-Harris message. It was sincere, it was spontaneous, it was exciting — or at least that’s what it seemed to be. Now (I know, knock me over with a feather) it turns out that the whole thing was faked: the entire Harris bubble was the artificial creation of a bunch of leftist billionaires.

  • Nah, we know that Lenin was not a fountain.

  • Raphael Lemkin was a Zionist all his life

The biography of Raphael Lemkin has emerged of late as a highly contested lieu de memoire in charged political debates in Europe, the United States and the Middle East about the meaning, past and present, of the Holocaust and genocide. At the same time, scholars have attempted to demythologize Lemkin by reinscribing his life into its pre-World War II Polish context. Yet thus far no one has identified the precise political activities and affiliations that shaped Lemkin’s concept of genocide. In this article, I show that Lemkin, far from being a Jewish Bundist, a Polish nationalist or an apolitical cosmopolitan, was an active member of the interwar Polish Zionist movement, from which he drew the ideas that inspired his idea of the crime of genocide.

The academic and popular fixation on Raphael Lemkin confuses biography with historical explanation of the genocide concept. An actual intellectual history of genocide needs to attend to his context rather than rely on his misleading autobiography, Totally Unofficial. His conception of humanity as comprising distinct nationalities did not originate in the liberal cosmopolitanism he postulated upon arriving in the USA, but in a lifelong Zionist commitment to Jewish statehood in Palestine.

    Epistemological challenges of AI

  • There always be new contradictions. But as communists we have to solve first the main contradiction of our times: the conflict between Capital al Labour, between workers and entrepreneurs.

  • The nickname 川建国 (Chuan Jianguo) is a satirical Chinese internet meme meaning "Trump the Nation Builder". It mocks the idea that Trump's policies, intended to harm China, inadvertently backfire and end up strengthening it.

  • And before anyone says it: "But at least parking lots are more aesthetically pleasing than Soviet khrushchevkas and panelkas." And: "But China has ghost cities!"

Quick explainer: Khrushchevkas were the low-rise mass housing blocks from the Khrushchev era: thin walls, tiny kitchens, built fast and cheap. Panelkas came later under Brezhnev, taller and made of prefab concrete panels, equally grim. Both defined Soviet urban landscapes for decades. Both were cramped, often poorly insulated, and not visually inspiring. But sure, tell me a parking lot is an upgrade.

  • I would limit myself to two rules:

    • sleep 8 hours a day
    • find whatever rhythm makes you productive or happy

YouTubers do not know what works best for you. Neither do squirrels, bears and lions.

  • According to Korean/German philosopher Byung-Chul Han, we live in a burnout society, so even if the person is peculiar, burnout is a serious issue in our society and everyone of us could suffer from it.

  • I agree. "The medium is the message" also implies that the medium cannot be neutral.
