They grabbed 1 song from the top 10 (excluding top 3 to avoid mega-hits) for every other year. Here's the songlist used for the study:
I went to the paper and if you're struggling to interpret the x-axis like I was, the paper labels it "song-specific age" i.e. the age the person rating the song was when the song was released. Y axis is "standardized musical preference".
yes if you used celsius you would get nonsense, this is why any scientific calculations done involving temperature use an absolute scale (usualy Kelvin).
Actually, I'm not so sure. The integral to find average temperature would work in Celsius or Kelvin (Celsius = Kelvin + 273.15). I think @jack@hexbear.net just made up the 3% figure?
A 3% change from Earth's average temperature in Kelvin would be a 23 degree (C) temperature change! Apocalyptic beyond any climatologist's predictions. in Celsius it would be 0.45 degrees.
is another very relevant equation here when looking at the mechanics of collisions. reduce the momentum change or increase the collision time and you reduce the literal (peak) force of the impact.
interestingly, kinetic energy is the time integral of momentum.
In a planning environment where speed was treated as the decisive variable — where Hegseth’s own strategy document instructed the military to “weaponise learning speed” — the conditions for epistemic drift were not merely present. They were policy.
pretty funny that this article was also written by AI.
the piston seals in the cylinders of an ICE car should be (nearly?) air tight. As the car is used the pistons/seals wear down reducing engine performance and efficiency. It can get so bad that the car won't even run, I once test drove a car that started fine but would die at idle speed when warm. It's very expensive to fix, most cars are probably scrap at that point.
special diagnostic tools are needed to get that information from an ICE, whereas an EV will, at the very least, display right on the dash"fully charged : x miles"
literally, an EV will tell you a range estimate based on current charge level (and include ambient/battery temperature in that estimate, maybe even recent terrain/driving behavior).
hell yeah, home theaters are so cool. I've got something similar! pieced together over years, got a bargain on used sound equipment, etc.
what do you use for a screen? They can get crazy expensive. I'm still using the first one I bought for pretty cheap on amazon. It's nothing fancy, manually retractable, 16:9 100" diagonal
Also are you rocking a laser projector? they seem really awesome but I haven't yet branched out from DLP ($$$$).
alright. I'll practice! I can can dip a good bit below parallel with flat feet but have to put in a lot of effort to lean forward and keep my arms forward. Also I can't go low enough to actually rest so my quads are flexing the entire time
