IT dingus from Germany who'll move to Australia soon™

  • "COC" Hehe

  • It's very much an acquired taste kinda thing. I feel that most people use it wrong; spreading it way to thick or eating it out of the jar (good god). I think Vegemite is too strong/overpowering on its own and really meant to almost be a garnish.

I'm German, so not really certified to talk about it but I do like Vegemite. You toast some toast, spread butter on it, then a thin layer of Vegemite and then add a slice of cheese.

  • No matter who wins, everyone loses

  • This seems to be largely aimed towards people with limited understanding of the English language and/or people who are not sure of their rights, but I feel a bit better knowing that this institution now exists as well.

I'll be in the same vulnerable position soon and I can't imagine a worse situation to be in than being exploited by an employer who knows that you pretty much have no choice but keep working for them if you don't want your visa to be cancelled.

  • Wiesmann, or any other small-scale German sports car manufacturer for that matter. It seems like all sports car brands are owned by big conglomerates nowadays, and nearly all of them are pretty boring and generic as a result.

I know that Wiesmann is still around but they're nothing but a shell of what they once were.

    Shoutouts to Roland Gumpert.

  • 100% this.

Another thing that disappeared with Holden and Ford Australia are normal sized utes, nowadays it's just all gigantic pick-up trucks.

  • There are so many games on Steam and every dey a few hundred more are added. I assume there are automated checks and rudimentary malware scans in place but those aren't fault proof.

  • At least she took it with a sense of humour.

  • Can't wait to read about people dying because they believed AI-generated books on foraging, or medicine, or BDSM... The LEAST they could do is label the books as AI.

  • Don't drag Germany into this....

Actually, do whatever to Germany I don't really care

  • It's funny how the last decade or so we were always told to save water and ditch the car, you know, be as environmentally friendly as possible only for big companies to come along and basically do the opposite; again and again.

The world is going to shit and everyone knows it, but money talks I guess... I can't fucking take it anymore.

  • Especially settings that make you computer faster

  • "Subversive art-pop" WTF is that?

  • Naaahhh, he's not like that... I never met him but he can't be like that; I mean look at him.

  • He looks so friendly and approachable in that picture

  • Yeah, look at NeuraLink and how successful that was at being a thing.

  • Does there really need to be an article about this? I mean it should be a no brainer. Not that it changes much, it's still Windows 11 at the end of the day.

  • Because psychiatrist's appointments weren't difficult enough to get?

  • At least they're still trusting their software engineers to use it. My employer hired a bunch of people for their "AI taskforce", the leader of which can't even be bothered to use a password on his vibecoded SQL database full of sensitive company data. And you can bet your ass he's getting paid three times as much as anyone in the IT department.

Best thing is that they're expecting us to take care of their mistakes.
