While I understand, and would probably join them if I could, it also occurs to me that the people the world needs in this country, to enact change, are the ones who are leaving.
I can only imagine wherever they move to, the people there might feel the same way about them.
"Food is not reward, food is not entertainment" became my mantra.
It's macadamia nuts for me. If I have a 3 lb. bag of macadamia nuts, I'm eating a 3 lb. bag of macadamia nuts. Fortunately, they're expensive, so I just don't get them anymore. It's much easier to not buy them, than to not eat them.
You're not alone. The first time I lost access to my locally-stored content when my internet went out, I searched for a solution. There is, one, but it's not obvious--or at least wasn't back when I encountered this problem. I don't know why it would be the default setup, I can't think of a good reason, only nefarious ones. It's one of the reasons I dumped Plex, in spite of having a life-time pass I paid $75 for, I stopped trusting them.
I don't much like my first name, but it's the name my mom gave me, and I would never change it because of that. My mom said she gave her kids less common names because everyone on her side of the family was named biblical names, like John, Mary, and Paul. And, she wasn't religious, so she picked names she liked that were specifically not biblical.
I used to have down to 1/16" in decimal memorized. Got me within 1/32, which was enough. I only have 1/8" decimal still memorized, I don't need it as much as I used to.
This category was down by 0.2% from May of 2024 to May of 2025, a tiny drop, but one made more notable by employment in general trending up 0.8% in the same time period.
Correlation much?
Comparing a trend in a category expected to be affected by AI, to general employment doesn't mean the drop is because of the expected reason. Could be those businesses are suffering job losses for other, more mundane reasons.
Statues are often much larger than real life. So, a six-inch tall mosquito statue would be similar to a Statue of Unity for a mosquito. But, why stop there? The mosquitos don't give a fuck about a bloodless statue, so might as well make it 10-feet tall to induce nightmares in small children. Even better if it's an animated fountain, where it plunges its proboscis into the water and makes a splash.
Why would anyone want to go to Mars? Maybe 2000 years from now, after we've perhaps terraformed it. Until then, Mars is hell.
The best planet for any species is the planet they evolved on. We're a perfect match for Earth. We should stay on Earth until we develop the ability to terraform, or travel to another planet nearly identical to Earth.
Also, if we fuck up this planet to the point we can no longer survive here, then we should certainly not go out and fuck up another planet.
