  • I have to keep my roller in my bag. If I use it too much my hands start to hurt. Growing up, I used to have a flash drive I spun on a lanyard, and my most recent obsession has been this thing. It makes the most lovely clicky noise when I want, and is dead silent when I don't want.

  • A very predictable sign that I need to reevaluate my current job is when I start staying up late to avoid sleeping (and therefore having to go to work tomorrow). It's not a concious choice; it's just that anything is better than the portal that leads to getting up for work tomorrow.

    When the first commercial telephone exchange began service in January 1878, teenage boys were hired as the first operators.   • That's what I got from it too. It's such a dated way of looking at relationships that you have to already be aware of how they used to be depicted in order to get it. I love lucy would occassionally have similar story beats in the earlier show.

  • All I had to do to get my cat to respond to her name was to mostly only use it right before dinner time.

    She still got mad at me for using any sort of canned food that wasn't for her, but at least she knew I wanted her attention, and even usually answered, whenever I called her name.
