  • Cool!

  • Have subscribed for a few months, and filtering out or boosting results is the best feature. However their AI offering is just very lackluster compared to the other big tech firms, and I use software for efficiency, not mainly privacy. However I can trade off some UX for privacy

  • Great game, I have played it for hours earlier, sounds like its time to play again

  • FYI

  • I knew about Unit 731, but never read about the people in charge. Never heard of Gladio either. TIL

  • It is off. The US empire is falling, and falling fast. They are lashing out in all directions, and hurting almost everyone. People credit Trump too much for the chaos, that is really frustrating. Yes, he has a lot of power to do idiotic things, but there is an armada of people controlling things and contributing here. Trump is mostly the facade. Never forget that Americans wanted this. They knew what he was, but they still voted for the republican fascists.

The same authoritarian development is happening in a lot of democracies at the moment. It's honestly very worrying. I also feel quite powerless.

  • Giving the far-right this as a way to appease them, just validates their world view. Its not as if it is going to end with drastically reducing immigrants.

  • As a dad of a newborn, they are not really that fragile. When changing their diapers I just use one hand to hold one leg to lift up. I asked a doctor about this, and he said it's no problem She does not care, she has a fun time with me switching diapers. Can't do it when shes older though.

Just protect their necks and head, besides that they are robust.

  • Nope. I am not prescribing a solution here. I am asking if people believe there is any other solution, and if there is hope to avoid it.

  • I don't really, Dems are pretty useless and bought by the rich as well. Which is why the two party system can't work to solve these issues effectively. I don't blame Trump either, he is more a symptom, than the problem

  • Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

Am I the only one that believe the US has to go through some sort of painful transition/civil war/revolution to fix it? Is reforms from Democrats enough?

  • A big set of financial legal guarantees that protect both parties.

And also an agreement to make it harder to leave during conflict. Which is something both parties agree to when not in a very emotional state.

Making it harder to leave is controversial, since it in practice goes against consent and the wishes of either party during conflict. Since sex can't be forced in marriage anymore (luckily), marriage is an acceptable practice, in my opinion.

Force through the use of financial pressure from one party to stay together is in no way acceptable though. Both parties should be willingly in the relationship long term. Financials will however always be a factor, since it is cheaper and more beneficial to be two.

  • I started reading about this wiki articleas a fishing metaphor, for a specific type of trolling technique. I discovered way to late that it is not. Learned some new things though.

  • Then the solution is still to make those that actually want to able to. This is anecdotal, but I know several people that delay or do not get children due to their finances. That is in Norway, with the best or close to the best support and security net for families. Society is not made to have children, and if you dare go above two children, then you will have a lot of disadvantages. So the practical maximum for most people is two, unless you live where there is almost no jobs, on top of that not everyone gets children. The practical maximum is due to car size, home size, budgets etc. Do you want your child to own a home some day? Then you have to pretty much make sure they are able to financially and start straight away, which is not something they will be able to themselves. All these reasons contribute to there being born less than two children per woman.

Society has a few choices to maintain the population

    1. Make it a lot easier to have children and give them the best possible life. Make it an obvious choice. Free childcare, free healthcare, parental leave, financial support, etc.
    2. Force, direct or indirect (economical, loss of rights, anti abortion, etc)
    3. Immigration

  • The reason for low fertility rates is in large parts due to capitalism. I want at least one more child, but it is too expensive. We need to get a bigger apartment, which is prohibitably expensive. Want to stay home with the child? Too bad, both parents have to work to make the economy work. If you want higher fertility rates we just have to make it easier to become a parent through systemic changes, and lots and lots of reforms helping parents

  • From my understanding it does allow me to use the code for any purpose regardless of the license, does it not? Even if I dont own the LLM written code?

  • Updated question to clarify. Was thinking more of specific repos being laundered, not entirety

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Unless patented, are we not in a situation in which all publicly accessible code can be laundered through LLMs? If I find a source available code, I can just launder it?

  • Don't really care that much the few times it happens. People rarely want to exclude you (in adulthood at least). Asking is almost a courtesy towards the person showing it. In a way it shows that you care, and want to participate in the thing that person is excited about. Not really a bad thing, also most times it's just about the logistics of showing something to everyone.

  • The sentiment towards the US have changed significantly the last couple of years, the last year accelerated like hell. We prefer US support through NATO for safety, and we need to arm up. Something we have started doing at a huge tempo. Same goes for tech. What value does the US still provide us compared to before? They don't produce many things that are completely vital. We will treat them like a untrustworthy trade partner, and gradually grow closer ties with China. The trade partner that we actually heavily depend on, and that have yet to heavily fuck us over with tariffs as punishment

  • I did not watch the entire thing, but hybrids allowing the use of a more efficient motor was cool. Compensating for it's disadvantages with an electric motor 🤯
