  • You should check out Casiotone for the Painfully Alone. A lot of his songs are like this, the rest tend to be short stories set to music. Excellent band ( although I think it's just one guy named Owen Asheworth). He calls the project Advanced Base now, also really good

  • I majored in English, now I make artisanal pizzas.

  • I think about things like this all the time. Take the Louisiana purchase, the Americas "bought" a swath of land from the french. The French barely "controlled" any of it, and the concept of them "owning" it was completely theoretical. The Native Americans were the only people living in the majority of it. Rich people doing rich people things. Crazy

  • I'll have to check it out. Obviously a man of taste

  • I have no idea who john green is. Enlighten me

  • The Mountain Goats- the Sunset Tree. It's a concept album, if you're a lyric person give it a listen. Regardless if it gets enough upvotes. Do yourself a favor, it's that good

what is something that immediately makes you think someone is a decent human being?

  • I spend most of my time on beehaw, they're my kind of people

  • I absolutely love it here. It's everything an old anarcho hippy punk could ask for. No regrets on leaving reddit

what are your go to indoor activities?

  • I find myself going on jags of rereading. I always have something new that I'm reading with some others in the wings, but sometimes I get an itch to reread books. Usually I'll pick up an old Vonnegut novel, for example, and realize how much I've missed his style and message. That leads me to binge several more of an authors books.

  • Library and a punk show! Sounds like a great fucking weekend!

  • Pride that shit up!

  • I still have things in boxes from 2 moves ago, maybe I don't need them...

  • That sounds like a rad job!

  • Happy birthday! Enjoy spending time with your loved one, that's a present in and of itself! Also, fuck landlords

does anyone else enjoy feeling exhausted after a fulfilling activity?

  • I've been sober now for a little over two months. Socializing is definitely more difficult, not because of not wanting to be around situations where people are drinking. I live in a small town, everyone I'm around knows that I checked myself into treatment, so that's not an issue. The issue is that I find myself being bored by normal social situations. I'm working on getting out more, and I do have a small but awesome group of sober friends. I think it's just different now. That's something I need to except and work through myself. Congrats on getting sober!

I just wanted to say that I love this place

What is something simple that you do to decompress and keep yourself centered?

  • Don't feel too bad about it. I'm in intensive out patient for alcoholism. Two months sober but I still can't quit smoking. It's hard, best of luck to you

  • I was a social worker for a while in what feels like a past life. Trust me, it's infuriating on their end as well there's nothing more frustrating than trying to help someone in need and being blocked by red tape and bureaucracy. I hope all goes well, my thoughts are with you

  • What's the project if you don't mind me asking?

  • Not bad all in all. I had a lot of projects to finish but they were all fun art projects so I can't complain

    how was everyone's week?
