  • Man this one hurts to read.I used to read things like this and be relatively unaffected, but since becoming a father myself, it's beyond my worst nightmare.Just the thought of it makes me have a physical feeling in my gut.

I'm sure you have control in life, but know that an internet stranger is thinking of you today and wish you and your loved ones all the best.

  • Yeah they recommended the same alkylate here.

I have to admit: I know very little of GM engines, and they sell very few cars here. It's becoming even less relevant as EV's are just dominating completely, passing 97% here last month. For me personally it's the snow blower and motorcycles, but both of those are new enough to handle E10. I still give them 98 as they sometimes have to sit idle due to weather, and we have winter from October to April.

I've heard the same about petrol being stored, but I've never had issues either. At least a year seems to be more than OK, but that is always 98.95 E10 might be worse as it absorbs water over time...Hope your rototiller works fine next time you use it !

  • In Norway, 98 is still ethanol free for older cars and engines only used seasonally like lawn mowers and snow plowers.

95 is of course (up to) 10% and that’s completely fine for anything even remotely modern and in use every now and then.

Like you said: hoses don’t like the ethanol, and it’s hydroscopic which is what can cause issues if left in for 6 months every year.

  • Locked

Why does Lemmy.ML admire authoritarian regimes ?

  • I'll be a bit greedy and add in: Not kill each other over ideological differences and just do our own shit and be happy.

I realize this sounds like Utopia, but one can dream!

  • I think you’ve been in Denmark for to long hehe. It’s $350/year these days.Still very good though, and hospitals are usually free.

After giving birth a few years ago, the only cost was ish $30 in parking for two days.

  • Did anyone send you an invite, or do you prefer the public trackers?

  • I’d say both yes and no.

Not as dependant on it to completely hit the definition, but it’s still a relatively high source of income. The big difference is that our income is invested globally through Oljefondet (Statens Pensjonsfond Utland), so today we are much more vulnerable to financial instability than we are to fluctuating oil and gas prices.

Export prices are not that high as there are pipelines in the North Sea and relatively short trips to our European neighbours, but our extraction price is on average about twice that of e.g. Saudi, at about $20-25 per barrel vs $10.Still a lot lower than in the US and UK.

Another upside is that the North Sea oil is relatively light and sweet, making it easier and cheaper to crack into sellable products.

Hope I answered all your questions, if not just ask again.

  • I have a H2S, which has been incredible, but I’m eagerly awaiting INDX for either Core One+ or RatRig.

Hopefully some good news this spring!

  • Same setup, all in Proxmox.

    Works really well

  • Damn it, you made me giggle!

  • Ditto, same experience in Oslo.

Boring feels like the only "right" thing these days, with Trump and Putin doing their things.

The media and politicians seem to take the Epstein-files seriously and prosecute, and I personally don't really notice any difference if the right or the left hold the government.

    Life feels pretty good, tbh.

  • Same for me.

The moment I can use Docker, I’m spinning it up with Tailscale and invite those who are ready to swap.

Fingers crossed it turns out as good as we hope!

  • I own a .me domain as my last name was taken locally. Had it for a few years.

.me is just so easy to share over the phone and looks cool, so I’d probably keep it even if I manage to snag the local one in the future.

    No issues so far

  • Yeah this is what we’re waiting for too.Looks very exciting to self host with Tailscale/Netbird.

  • I managed, without ever trying, to convert a friend to swap to Linux about a month ago.

Today I’m driving over to give him my old old server so he can start self hosting. He’s super keen on getting started.

So not my success, but ours? One more person joins the community today!

  • Same story here.

Have two private trackers now, but started with just using the ones I had heard of, and removed a few that kept coming up short.

It works fine, but torrents died quite fast as most people don’t bother seeding there. For new stuff it worked fine

  • Concur on the PS2. Been super happy with ours.Chose it because we disliked Musk and wanted buttons.

Cupra Born as the second car. Also been a problem free and fun little thing.

Today I would look at the EX60, I4 or Polestar 4.

  • Agree!I’ve managed to convert three friends this last year. Two to Mint, one to Bazzite because he mostly games.

Immutable distro is perfect for him, just working out of the box.

Next «level» for him would probably be Fedora KDE Plasma, for sure not Arch.

  • Oooooooooh, well god dingit, there it is!

    Nice! Thanks again!
