  • I love this. Commentary tracks are a huge part of movies for me (I hate how streaming services usually omit them). Definitely should do more of that for games.

  • I noticed that occasionally. I just assumed it differed based on the instance of the post or something. My Lemmy experience has been a lot better since I switched away from lemmy.world. Used to have crashes but haven't crashed since switching. But, lots of stuff is changing, so maybe it was something else.

  • The Connect client can hide posts based on keywords. I switched from Jerboa purely for that one feature.

  • It was well respected by me as the only social platform that wasn't a form of self torture that countless people inexplicably partake in daily.

Now I consider Lemmy to have that singular position.

  • That was the best Simpsons game ever made. It was wall to wall references with quality gameplay. I'd love a remake of it.

  • Where does this data come from? I keep expecting !hobbit_art@hobbit.world to show up since it jumped from 50 users to 155 users in just a couple of weeks. I'm pretty proud of it, although I do wonder why some art gets lots of upvotes and other, quite amazing art, doesn't. But, I'll figure it out in time.

  • That's obviously someone making a joking point about karma.

  • Is that value stored on the home instance of the user? I think summing karma is a terrible measure of an account. So if it's stored in the instance, I'll update mine to be a large random value.

Maybe we can have the admins of all instances update the value for all users to a random value to make it worthless.

  • In summary, for our mental health, delete nextdoor and never look at national news. One is populated by busybodies and the other is just cancer.

  • I didn't realize the game actually ended. Now I have a goal!

  • I hope the tablet complaining about low quality copper is there.

  • I see one now. Weird. Maybe more will show up later.

  • It works, but I see no posts. Not sure why that is.

  • Ok, that wasn't what I expected. He makes good points.

FWIW, Dark Souls 1 was absolutely worth the pain. I consider that 1st playthrough one of the best gaming experiences of my life. It also ruined Skyrim for me because the combat in Skyrim is so unsatisfying after the Dark Souls experience.

Trying to think of a game where my experience matches the video though. If I play a great game and then find it boring after X hours, I just stop playing. My past is littered with unfinished games.

  • What type of games is this about? Like gacha games that are just gambling? Or mmos that are a social addiction? Or Dark Souls which is awesome except for the frustration which is an important part of it.

I can't think of any other options. For anything else you should just drop the game and play something else. And you shouldn't play gacha games at all.

  • I've read theories about white holes and such. I'm not a physicist though. But ultimately, sometimes you just need to shrug and say I don't know. Any assertions without evidence are meaningless guesses.
