  • How do I find and join communities on other instances?

  • You can search on your instance in the search area: https://lemmy.ml/search

    You can do a general search if you want or if you know the name of the community you want to sub to, you can search for !community_name@instance.url

    Another great way to simply find a community is by using https://browse.feddit.de/ Search for an interest/community there and then do a search with the community address on your instance like I said above.

  • Why is Lemmy.world getting over moderated as it has been functioning as our r/all equivalent by obvious user choice?

  • I wonder if it's because !lemmyworld@lemmy.world sidebar and rules say:

    This Community is intended for posts about the Lemmy.world server.

    That means announcements from the team, issues you see etc.

    There's so much spam in this community already. People are using it as a catch-all community

  • I've been having this same issue and it just seems to be hit or miss. TBH I think it may be because kbin and even some lemmy servers are getting absolutely hammered right now. Sometimes I can search for a kbin "magazine" on lemmy and it finds it, but most times not.

    As I'm writing this, i'm trying to test and kbin is actually down at the moment. I think the reddit wave is just affecting things.

  • You guys hate carpet in the bathroom? I can one up that. My parents have a bathroom with carpet that goes up the bathtub walls! Bonus points for the terrible wallpaper.

  • Not sure why carpet in the bathroom gets so much hate. Drying off is as easy as rolling around on the floor.
