  • That's a young man's game. I did it back in my day. In fact it was introduction to Paradox Games with Crusader Kings 2. Eventually you get tired of all the futzing around making shit work properly and just decide to wait for a good sale.

  • Nope. Not money bags. I purposefully chose a used computer that was good enough to be better than my old desktop, but still running DDR4 so I could have a chance at finding some inexpensive RAM. Powerful enough for what I need it for, but not the newest or shiniest.

  • On my list but maaaan, triple A games are so bloody expensive now!

  • I'm so bad at Chess that even the Dr. Wolf Chess tutor app eventually gave up, patted me on the head, and used very small words to recommend I download a checkers app instead...

  • Played it and loved it. Didn't find that it had a lot of replayability after the first two or three times through trying different things just to see what happened.

  • Ace Combat 7 is on my XBox wishlist. I'll pick it up some day.

    • EU4 = Europa Universalis 4
    • HOI4 = Hearts of Iron 4
    • KSP = Kerbal Space Program
  • I refuse to do the subscription. I play what I've got, and if there's a massive sale, maybe I'll pick up one or two down the road. But paradox subscriptions just feel icky to me for some reason. I'm old, I even still buy albums instead of streaming.

  • Bought on my XBox.

  • I always forget that Stellaris is sitting in my steam library as well. It's like the forgotten stepchild of Paradox. It's also the one that I have the least amount of DLC for since (even though I'm a sci-fi nerd), I'm a history nerd even moreso.

  • Old PC crapped the bed literally days after defeating the final Chosen on my way to the third act of the game. Hope my cloud save survived.

  • Hadn't heard of it. Looked it up. MMO's just aren't my bag. Looks great for people who are into that though.

  • Linux Gaming @lemmy.world

What should my celebratory first game be?

  • I love the fact that it's an entire movie where the side-kick is treated as the main character, while the actual main character is treated as the side-kick. It's brilliant.

It's also responsible for by-far my most used line. "It's like I told my ex-wife. "Honey, I never drive faster than I can see. And besides that, it's all in the reflexes."

  • That is an impossible question because it depends on so many factors of what's going on on the particular day that I'm asked.

So instead I'll give you the three that most often rotate into top spot:

    1. Children of Men

    2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

    3. LA Confidential

  • They deserve an invasion

I'd rather they just get nuked back to old testament levels.

  • PC is nothing until I can get the parts in to get it running.

Everything at the moment is being done on a 4gb Chromebook that I've wiped and installed Linux onto. It's surprisingly capable in a lot of ways, but not capable enough to do more than some very basic blender modelling.

  • Oh yeah...it's all backed up. That's not a worry. Just don't have a computer powerful enough for 3D modelling, or editing at the moment. So all I can do is write code and hope that when I put it together with the 3D it actually works (it won't, because honestly I'm pretty terrible at coding but I refuse to vibe it.)

  • "Working on" is a pretty hazy definition at the moment.

My three biggest projects (finishing an aircraft for X-Plane, programming a minimalist word processor, and working on what will hopefully be a pixel game similar to Panzer General) were all functionally tanked when my desktop died. I could still do little things here and there on my underpowered laptop, but for all intents and purposes, I've been hamstrung for about four months now.

Finally picked up a new/used computer and just have to work through a few more glitches to get it up and running.

  • Trump.

But only because I've lost sympathy with those people who keep saying "We need to get him out in November, blah blah blah"

Holy...fucking...denial, Batman! He's not going away. He's not joking about staying in 2028 and 2032. By all means vote in the midterms but be prepared for that vote to mean precisely jack shit.

Stop bitching and do something about it. Does it risk your livelihood and possibly your life when (not if) it comes to that? Yes. But you know who elses livelihood's and lives were threatened? The founding fathers; they had the courage to do it anyway.

If American's aren't willing to stand up for fear of losing their precious conveniences, than fuck 'em. I'm at the point where they deserve what they get.
