Why would you want to think about it that much ?There is a lot of heat escaping from the truck while it is waiting to be dumped and this creates temperature gradient inside the load. I didn't have to think about it that much because I worked for many years in asphalt surveillance.Normally we don't use infrared cameras but we do have infrared heat guns and much more sophisticated devices.
