Echoes of Wisdom and the Golden Goddesses

Is Echoes of Wisdom the first time the golden goddesses speak directly to the player? I know “something” speaks to you at the statues in the recent games, but we’re not sure who or what. So is this the first time they identify themselves directly? I know on Reddit there was a bit discussion on whether or not they even existed, because we only knew about them through myth. Hylia was the closest before that I can remember in terms of proof they exited, because I believe she mentioned them or hinted at it.
