First time braving leaving Mama's side

We're fostering mom (the eyes) and her one little kitten (the floof). Mama's so malnourished that the shelter didn't realize she was pregnant until they found this one little kitten in her cage one morning.

Mama was super stressed so we are fostering to give her a quieter and less stressful environment. Floof (Fernando) picked up an eye infection so we're also treating that. Yesterday was the first day that both mom and baby braved leaving their den while I was in the room. My absolute favourite part of fostering strays is helping them learn to trust people.

Once everyone is happy, healthy, and spayed/neutered, it'll be adoption time - so if you are near Calgary, Canada and in need of some unconditional judgment love grudging tolerance, look for these two at AARCS.
