Battery maker Varta to cut 350 jobs after losing major client

German battery manufacturer Varta will cut ​350 jobs and ‌stop production of button cells in the southern town ​of Noerdlingen

Varta's Noerdlingen plant almost exclusively ​produces ​rechargeable ⁠CoinPower button cells for Apple's AirPods. ​These will be ​supplied ⁠by a Chinese supplier in the future, a ⁠source ​said.
