  • The cake version slaps hard. I love it

  • A toilet that is installed improperly and is on unlevell ground and wobbles or if the screws get even a little loose and the toilet wobbles every time you sit down, then it will end up with the leaky wax seal.

I agree this is not really "willy nilly", There is a clear sign of something wrong with the wobble. But a lot of people just aren't taught this stuff throughout their lives so they don't know that that's a problem. So then you end up with people sitting on a wobbly toilet for years and then the wax seal moves and starts to leak.

Uncaulked is the way to go. If you do maintenance and keep everything around it clean. At least where I'm currently living in the U.S. that seems to be the standard. I have seen other countries where the toilet and shower are all together and they just shower and spray down next to the toilet. I don't know about caulking there.

I have also seen the caulk around that leave the back open as well. That probably also works. Check code is most important, but I personally prefer no caulk look

  • I really really hope this is the case. The thing that probably drives me nuts the most right now is rebooting and having to reorganize windows across two monitors and six desktops.

  • Spam. When it comes out of the can, it looks like a disgusting gelatinous blob. But when you cut it thin and pan fry it, it's actually pretty tasty.Pretty much any canned meat. Ever seen a whole canned chicken? Although most canned meat doesn't taste nearly as good as fresh. But there really isn't a "fresh" spam. So I think it fits the question. https://c8.alamy.com/comp/CW0NEJ/luncheon-meat-on-plate-CW0NEJ.jpg

  • It's been a while since I've used TrueCrypt because I switched over to Linux and used Luks. But I thought everyone had moved to Vera Crypt. Is that no longer the case? Just curious, Since I haven't read much about that world for many years.

  • Wait, are lions part of the nativity? I don't think I knew that

  • I haven't looked extensively, but for the past ten minutes I've not been able to find any article. About 20 different news stories to say the same thing, but none of them actually link a peer reviewed published article.

  • I'd love it you'd name a few. I like games you can get lost in for hours and always looking for others I may have missed.

  • My father went to high school with someone whose last name was Butts. His parents named him Harold and called him, and thus his friends called him, Harry. I always kind of thought it was a tall tale until my father showed me his high school yearbook one day And there was a picture of Harry Butts.

I always kind of wanted to meet this man and his wife and ask her if he lived up to his name.

  • I'll enter for God of War, I watched a few YouTube videos of it with my son and it looked fun and a good story. Thanks for this idea, it's fun. Good luck to everyone.

Something that made me happy this year: my son tested into advanced math placement at school and I still can't get over how amazed I am with the poor genes I passed in to him. Couldn't be more proud as it was something he wanted and of his own choosing spent extra time practicing math. Don't know how I lucked out, but he's pretty impressive to me

  • I tried so many, eventually landed on trilium. It's not perfect by any means, but it ticks the most boxes for my needs

  • You are correct. -itis just means inflammation or infection, encephalon just means brain. You can have encephalitis caused by multiple things, viruses, bacteria, fungal, auto immune diseases and so forth

  • I love trilium, I can self host. Doesn't have user support so I host two instances for me and wife. We then use mealie for recipes. It's worked really well

  • It's too bad this forces SSL connections. I'd like to use it for some home network/lan sites I have that are http only and use this just for convenience to access when at fine, but it requires a secure connection it seems

  • Can you elaborate? Or tell me where I can read more, I did not know this

  • Just finished shadow of Mordor yesterday and it was fun, and worked perfect on the deck. Today I started Darkwood, seems to be working reasonably well so far, although the run versus walk controls are a little clunky, but overall no big issues just an hour in to it

  • Perfect, I'll try it out. Sounds like no reason to get a steam link, and that what I have should work well enough
