  • He was probably exaggerating, while Hong Kong central is pretty built up, there are a lot of areas without any buildings, and even national parks large enough to get lost in (for a few hours at least).

  • Chiang Mai?

  • Fully agree, and I do reward people based on performance, but as you rightfully mention, attendance alone means nothing.

  • I rather block lefties coming out of the woodworks, cleans my frontpage up nicely.

  • Yes. Doesn't mean the ones who don't are special in any way.

  • Curiosity? I clearly said "controversial". Learn how to read before insulting people.

  • I'm running my own business and make more than my dad, but thanks.

  • I'm in the lucky position to live as far away from the US as humanly possible, but I still fail to see how that's an achievement.

  • I don't think that's necessarily a bad idea. Too many people are still not backing up their data, and the article says "...automatically save to OneDrive or your preferred cloud destination".

As long as they really give users full freedom to choose any cloud service, I consider that a win.

  • Exactly, hence I don't really consider it an achievement. An unnecessary sacrifice at best.

  • Yeah, so? I took days off when I was sick, as per my contract.

He either didn't get sick (and fulfilled the contract as intended) or went to work sick (in violation of health and safety requirements).

I still don't see how that demands praise.

  • I don't think that's what the OP intended to ask.

Receiving a salary doesn't mean a clergyman can run around drunk and stoned, there are other guidelines to follow that aren't publicly available.

  • Controversial take, but why would someone deserve recognition for carrying out work duties as per contractual agreement?

He did what he was paid for, no more, no less. Being sick or not is by and large outside of someone's immediate control and should receive neither reward nor punishment.

  • If you bought it outside of China that might be a thing, for Chinese phones it shows a cancel button only. There is a confirm button, but it's greyed out and not clickable.

  • Oppo = OnePlus

Huawei bootlaoders can't be unlocked, so absolutely no custom ROM there.

Honor bootlaoders can't be unlocked, so absolutely no custom ROM there.

Poco seems possible for now, never used one of their phones, but well good that there's something possible.

  • Apart from Xiaomi and OnePlus, which are released for international audiences, I'm not aware of a single Chinese phone with active rom development.

  • LOL. Chinese phones are way worse, they simply block installations of "unsanctioned" apps with no workaround.

My wife is Chinese and I used to live there for 7 years, it's an absolute privacy nightmare.

  • Most developers who publish on third party stores push all updates at the same time, then it really depends who's quicker in the approval process.

If the dev is on github, that might be the fastest (below the overview section under 'assets').

  • Cloudflare works perfectly fine with VPN.

But browser plugins to fuck with the fingerprint don't.
