  • One downside for Mint is RCS doesn't work properly with T-Mobile carriers as they require more privileged access. GOS has talked about maybe providing a toggle to allow this like they do with Android Auto.

  • There is a wide variety of quality with these recommendations / suggestions.

For example its still lists calyxos which at the moment is dead and a site like privacytools which is basically an SEO farm.

Generally people should avoid lists that do not provide any sort of criteria / transparency for whats on the list, regardless of the intention.

  • I have the rare ability to not attach my career to my self worth. This makes it much easier for me to be happy regardless of what I do to get paid.

Honestly it sounds like you might be making things more difficult then they need to be. Does your threat model actually require you to take the actions you are taking?

  • That doesn't sound better then the plans in the US. I currently get unlimited data for $15/month.

  • You can be concerned about a possible future issue and a current issue at the same time. To dismiss a possible issue because you are already concerned with something else seems silly. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what your getting at.

  • Not sure how you can believe on one hand that there isn't potential for "thoughtcrime" but also recognize that the technology has a hard time differentiating between internal monologues and thoughts directed for others.

At best it just can't recognize consent but at worst there will be a point where people can filter for internal thoughts. The more fine tuned this gets the easier it will become to abuse.

Granted I agree with you that the prospect of this being a nefarious technology doesn't seem imminent and could also have huge upsides if used in good faith.

  • Lol look at this wankers post history

  • GOS is already working with an OEM to produce their own phone. I think they said they are around a year away.

  • Every year people have to re-find out /e/ calyx and lineage were never focused on privacy and or security.

  • Why even post this? do you really need outside validation every time you decide to give up?

  • This is true. Although the curation is minimal and while bing isn't the only source its the main source.

Feel free to compare the results of a ddg search and bing search.

  • 5tb drive and another 6tb JBOD. My needs are relatively small. I really just seed to keep my private tracker accounts active, as there is momentum to emphasize seed time over ratio with higher end trackers. Most of the media I watch is either via stremio or live streams if its sports.

  • Thanks for the clarification!

  • Its focused on both. The misconception people make is equating de-googling to privacy.

  • DDG is more of a privacy frontend for Bing then its own search engine. Typically if its not on Bing its not gonna be on DDG.

Works on both Brave and Google via Mullvad Leta

  • Great move. They should of done it weeks ago.

  • Yeah I realized. Dumb mistake.
