The second one. I read somewhere that when you want to fall asleep you should try to picture the perfect apple, with the lighting, colours and everything. Like meditation for people who don’t want to meditate.
I gave myself a headache trying to keep the shape of an apple in my mind.
My silly reason is when it comes down to business the ms office suite works the best out of any office suite.
Sure that is because Microsoft spends more time making it incompatible with any other editors than actually developing decent software but that doesn’t change the fact that I can’t trust people on the other end of the email to perform even one step of troubleshooting if the document doesn’t open for them on the first try.
I feel like we shouldn’t call them “admin rights”, it implies you should automatically get them.
My mum used to say “it’s a privilege, not a right” when I was young and I reflect on that when she calls me up because she can’t install some virus on her laptop without my password and I explain that the system is performing as expected.
You’re getting email hosting plus a bunch of other stuff for free, did you think they did it out of the goodness of their heart?
Even back when Google wasn’t evil it was understood they used the contents of your emails to help build your advertising profile and in exchange you got free email hosting.
It’s perfectly reasonable gripe. Where are the sources? Who the fuck is pod save America? Why should I trust them?
At least with an article it’s easy to confirm their claims by skimming a few articles on the same topic from different sources.
If you’ve just dumped 90 mins into listening to someone’s version of events, are you really going to spend 90 minutes more listening to another podcast to see if they telling the truth? Even if they are being honest, they’ll have their own bias’. Just as bad as religiously listening to any other media source.
But we do share some common ground; a special community where you can post podcast links with impunity sounds like a good idea.
I don’t want to sound like a crusty old man but why on gods green earth are you posting a link to a Spotify podcast episode on a news forum? Are there truly no better sources?
Well it’s very clear in the business world. the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) is there to execute the will of the board of directors and to a lesser extent, the shareholders.
To be a Chief Executive Officer you must have an executive staff (Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, etc)
Many people in small business like to call themselves a ceo when in reality they are the director of the company. A director can do wherever they want.
Absolutely but most of its value is due to it being rare…. And shiny. The industrial uses were just a bonus we worked out later. In the early days it was valuable simply because we all told ourselves it was worth a certain amount of chickens.
Just adding my own experience, Nextcloud AIO runs plenty fast for just me (family is slow adopters) but its simple user interface is slowly working for them.
I run it in an LXC with access to two cores of an i7-9700 and 4gb of ram.
All the files are stored on an old usb2 external hdd.
Obviously that set up won’t scale well and the hdd will be the first bottleneck but I notice no performance issues and as a shameful windows user the way it ties in like OneDrive is great.
I can also just mount it as a network share for my Linux computer.
Things have little intrinsic value. They are only worth what people will pay for them. If the price of gold upsets you, please do not investigate the stock exchange.
Many politicians have stated that they got into the game to make a difference but all the back room deals, concessions and quid pro quo needed to get into a position of power meant they had their hands tied once they were in power.
I think a lot of the people who want to make a difference look at the quagmire that is modern politics and decide they can do more from elsewhere in the community. People who are willing to wade into that tar pit and aren’t interested in the power or the extra money that can be made on the side are few and far between.
Ahh my uneducated friend, you have make a common mistake.joe Rogan never talks about anything. He is only asking questions. Sure the question was “why are minorities ruining America” but he never said they were, he was just asking questions.
