I don't know if the printer analogy is a good one but I'm down with what you're saying. The rise of GUI in the early days really did push printing in extreme ways
this is a perfect example of why we should always allow an escape space for everyone. Sometimes that person in the space you are polar opposed too will create something that defies even their own rules
I'm proud of SDF.org but they do drop the ball a lot in regards to the lemmy instance. The mastodon service gets all the attention outside their core goals of public access to Unix. The biggest community is good and there's a fun digital comic artist that does lots of great work
