  • Yes, but nowhere compared to the Netherlands and Denmark

Ofc the size of the countries makes it easier.

  • This is like arguing that SMS is still a good messaging platform.

  • Also, the EU just launched a new plan for railroads all across Europe! Ofc Switzerland won't get any additional upgrades, but they are still somewhat connected because of the proximity.

Link to picture of railroad plan.

  • That's why you have GDPR.

  • The S5 is from 2014 which this year makes 10 years.

Pons_Aelius says: "the device is practically unusable after that, even if it's still working."

You say: "Not if you can change the battery"

AND THEN YOU GO ON to tell that your 10 year old phone is working but practically unusable, confirming in the most spectacular way, that Pons was right all along, even matching your very own experience to the point and date! And you still started your argument against it.

    It's amazing really. Bravisimo.

  • Batteries are also very recyclable, so we need a system in place for this, and then we'll go far in terms of earth's resources.

Because both resources, even though they are plentiful, are still finite.

  • Fair point, but invalid point when they are right.

  • But... They do? It's not the energy. It's the production and materials used for making solar that China has a near-monopoly on.

  • They have to because of the EU. So now they will get a good story out every time a state in the US "forces" them to do so.

Apple did the exact same thing a few months earlier.

  • No matter what, it's always good to use less of a resource, if you can get the same outcome. It's efficiency basically.

  • You accept that you live in the most late stage capitalist country of all time that's very pro monopoly.

And then you move I guess. No one believes USA will ever change for the better.

  • Also, Meta actually had the rewrite their new Threads app for EU, because the US version was so invasive, that they needed to adjust it.

The US still has the invasive version, like the rest of the world. Only EU gets the "better" one.

  • I think it's because the general public would expect a big company to come and fix it, like Microsoft. They feel safe because it's a well known OS that everyone uses. So it can't be unsafe, right? Right?

With Linux you're fucked if you have no computer knowledge, like most people. That's the general thinking.

  • Yeah, basically. There's something called Creative Cloud where you can save your documents for everyone to use, and you can do comments and feedback.

Also, if I got a Photoshop file, I would need to open it and work in it, and maybe send it back to another designer. It would be awful to have to convert it back and forth.

  • Damn, this is a really great solution. Then I could decide once if I wanted the cookies and the browser would decline/accept(lol) all from that point.

  • My problem is that we work together in Adobe apps at my work. I can't switch to anything else unless the whole organisation does.

I could try to change what they use, but it's a different task.

  • Also because the Congress that approved the extension were majority of Republicans both at senate and house.

Who would have guessed they would favor the multi billion corp rather than the public.

  • This is exactly my problem. I really want to do the switch, but I'm using my computer for work also, and I'll never get by without Office nor Adobe suite.

  • Who cares what you think though.
