  • Hamas, the government of Palestine, is the enemy.

Yeah, if you side with the oppressor. You know that Israel starved Gaza for 3 weeks before Hamas even responded?

They literally cut off food, clean water, medical supplies for 3 fucking weeks before the first attack. People's family were dying in the hospitals completely unnecessarily.

Ask yourself if you honestly think that anyone else would act differently. Do you honestly think that you would act different when you see your father/mother/brother/sister die because Israel blocked off all your help because of "politics"?

That's the story that doesn't reach the US and many places in the western world. How it all began.

And if you really want to know how Palestine has been fucked over, you'd have to go back to 1945. When you know the history, there's no fucking way you would side with Israel.

  • War is always political or religious.

  • They always have a choice. One solution is just more profitable than the other.

If Israel would fall or weaken, that would also mean that the only country in the whole middle east, that doesn't hate the US with all their guts, would be a weaker ally.

  • This varries alot depending on where you live.

    Normally it's like this.

First it goes into the water, then it goes to the ground, which normally filters it very well. BUT if this is generally a polluted area, and also depending on the composition of the earth, it may not filter it at all. We assume that there's some filtering though.

Now it gets really country-dependent. Some countries filter the tap water very well, some adds chlorine to 'cleanse' it, and some may not do a very good job entirely.

I'm no expert in which countries around the world do what, but it's probably something you can look up for your area.

Generally though, it's worse for you to inhale (unless the water is just polluted in other ways)

  • And they absolutely will, if they go through with it. EU uses the "spirit of the law" approach, so there's no way they'll get out of this.

  • Also very good points. This is in general a very good move by the EU, and I'd wish we had it as a currency in my country.

It's also a choice to use, so if you don't like it then keep use your VISA/MasterCard.

  • With this digital euro, all fees are paid by the EU. Which is the right way to do it. It shouldn't cost anything to spend and transfer money - just as it doesn't with cash.

I can't get my head around how much money VISA and MasterCard is pulling out of society today.

How banks take fees for you to do a simple money transfer.

    Scumbags.

  • You can.

    Only once tho.

  • Funny thing, Jesus was the biggest socialist world wide. He only lost his shit for real 2 times in the bible and both were because of capitalists.

Pretty ironic for the good 'ol Republicans. Evil fuckers.

  • Agreed.

But it's just a little hypocritical to not use reddit because of this, if it turns out it's much worse to use Lemmy in this regard.

  • Ehm, they don't show up magically.

You have to backup directly to your new phone, otherwise it won't get transfered.

I just did this, and I can 100% confirm that not backuped data won't go to the new phone.

  • No it's not.

I'm referring only to the fact that poor people have it much worse than rich. That's not fun nor a joke.

  • Probably, but could might as well be any other 3rd world state.

  • And why would anyone believe they'd stop if it wasn't legal.

  • Question: Wouldn't Lemmy instances easy be able to this without many users knowing?

And would they also be able to sell data from other instances, because they can load data from federated instances?

  • Show it then.

  • Let them get fucked by EU fines then? At least they are big enough to not just be a slap on the wrist.

  • I don't think you know how LLM's are trained then. It can become racist by mistake.

An example is, that there's 100.000 white people and 50.000 black people in a society. The statistic shows that there has been hired 50% more white people than black. What does this tell you?

Obvious! There's also 50% more white people to begin with, so black and white people are hired at the same rate! But what does the AI see?

It sees 50% increase in hiring white people. And then it can lean towards doing the same.

You see how this was / is in no way racist, but it ends up as it, as a consequence of something completely different.

TLDR People are still racist though, but it's not always why the AI is.

  • I wouldn't call it hate by any means. We more feel sorry for them. Even though over 50% did it to themselves.
