  • COMAC, but there would be no way a new manufacturer would be able to keep up with global demand.

    https://skift.com/2024/02/25/can-chinas-new-plane-compete-with-airbus-and-boeing/

Airbus doesn't have the safety issues Boeing has. Airbus put in the proper R&D including safety into the A320neo to make it a safe plane. Boeing needed to play catch up to make something that could compete against Airbus's plane and decided to cut corners.

  • I wouldn't say it's MUCH better than 10 years ago, but they're definitely making an effort to expand the train system. Blue Line goes all the way to Union Station now instead of just 7th & Metro. Purple line is in development to go to at least UCLA. Expo line, not sure if that was completed before you left, but connects from Santa Monica to Union Station now.

  • Not sure if you've been to LA, but they have been working on expanding the train system in preparation for the Olympics. So they're trying to do both, use the private sector with Waymo, and were already using your tax dollars to expand public transportation. Seems like a win for commuters to me, unless you're an Uber driver.

  • I'm a little mixed on this. I do think he should be lower on the rankings due to a lot of his shitty policies.

However, he has also done some significant differences that still affect us today. He did make GPS globally available to the public at no cost. Could you imagine having to pay to use your GPS every time, or not having GPS available to you at all unless you were in the military?

  • leaving us with a president that we'll over most of America didn't vote for.

Keep in mind that in the last 30-something years, Republicans have only won the popular vote once for the Presidency, and that was back in 2004.

  • They're not wrong about the addiction to dopamine hits. However, this is such a big waste of time and money on such a poor way to handle this.

  • I noticed that Hey Google wasn't working from the lock screen anymore. Pretty annoying.

  • I'm going to recommend getting an app called Feedly. You can setup what you want to see on the feed. Put only educational or scientific articles, or customize it with sources that meets your need.

  • On the Skagen side, it looks like they completely stopped making the hybrids. They pretty much took down the smartwatch/hybrid section.

  • This is my assumption, the demand for people that want a 7" phone does not justify the cost of development and manufacturing. Yes, there will be people that would want it, but just like the iPhone Mini, the demand wasn't justified to continue producing the smaller phone.

Generally 6" to 6.5" seems to be the sweet spot that is large enough to use, and small enough that it fits in my pocket comfortably.

  • As much as I really dislike the current SCOTUS, I do have faith that a majority would understand that if they allow this to continue happening, it would set an extremely dangerous precedent to allow more insurrections without repercussions. The only justice willing to allow this is probably Justice Clarence Thomas. Fuck that guy.

  • Their while goal is to make the experience so terrible that you pay for YouTube Premium.

  • Thanks for everyone's responses! Taking everyone's advice and doing it local instead of online.

  • The other user is correct. I'd like to design and print out photo Christmas cards and mail them.

  • I think you meant Cabbit!

  • Aside from the controversy, As a US citizen, I'm surprised that Australia still have K-Marts. I haven't seen one of those in like almost a decade.

  • The site was on life support way before letting people go. It's already a sinking ship since the porn rule.

  • The Tensor chip is not based on Snapdragon. It shouldn't be compared against it at all. A more comparable chip would be Exynos 2400.

  • The officer must've felt his life was threatened as she was driving away. That's why he had to shoot.
