My cousin helps run a men’s shelter in the Pacific Northwest. The building doesn’t have air conditioning because they never needed it. During last summer’s heatwave, they had residents come lie on cots in the common rooms downstairs because the apartments were too hot, and sent people to city cooling stations.
At a communications conference last week, a Bloomberg reporter told the attendees that most tier 1 journalists are looking for stories on LinkedIn now instead of Twitter. It’s gone from vital to junk in just a few months. Without its moderators, Reddit faces the same fate: lots of activity, but most of it junk.
So, it’s golf. They’re planning to have a tournament featuring players from their reality golf shows (which I didn’t even know existed until this moment). I honestly don’t know if golf is easier or harder to show live than other sports.
I’m not particularly worried about Trump supporters making a coordinated armed arrack, but I’m definitely concerned that unhinged individuals might cause trouble.
I don’t even speak German, but I basically get it.
