  • I agree. They’re getting attacked on three fronts - Linux for the gaming user base and now macOS for the student, education and casual user base; and all the while, the professionals and creatives get tempted by Apple hardware increasingly running faster, cooler and more energy efficient than anything in the Intel/AMD world. It’s Microsoft’s game to lose and boy they sure seem to want to lose it.

    I would never have believed it a few years back, but a world where Linux and Mac collectively have a higher market share than Windows could actually be possible. It’s the perfect storm of M-series chips kicking ass, Valve investing so much in Linux, and Microsoft giving the finger to their customers.

  • Timberlake, from Tennessee, agreed to give a public safety announcement against the perils of drunken driving as part of the plea deal that knocked down his initial misdemeanor charge to a noncriminal traffic violation.

    Ah yes, there it is. One does not simply arrest a rich white person in the Hampton and… convict them of the crime they committed!

    Meanwhile, I have friends who’ve been handed misdemeanor charges and the associated criminal records for going like 10mph over the speed limit.

  • It makes sense, same with Iceland. By participating in the EEA, Council of Europe, Schengen etc, they effectively are already beholden to most EU policies but without a seat at the policymaking table.

  • Yeah I intended to write a very similar comment. I think Kelly is respected as someone who is both honest and who cares about the country, so while I’d nominally prefer a progressive, Kelly would be a huge alternative to Newsom’s slicked-back car salesman energy.

  • Huh, pardon my ignorance but, does one not take them out regularly, particularly to sleep? I was under the impression that people generally take earrings, etc out to sleep, I guess I assumed that logic applied to all piercings generally.

  • Sure, but great weather just makes it that much more appealing. It’s not a prerequisite but it’s a huge plus. So, not having great bicycle infrastructure in a place with great weather seems like such a loss.
