The issue is when you know your coworkers will be much more stressed because you didn't come in. You still shouldn't go to work if you're sick, but I try not to call out that often for the same of the people I work with.
As an American, that's a way higher tax than I expected. Does everyone pay it, even people earning under a certain threshold? In the US we have social security and Medicare that everyone has to pay.
Yeah I've always heard that Amazon pays quite well. The only issue is that they'd work you to death in their warehouses if possible. It's a job that's good for quick cash but should never be a career.
