  • LOL

  • I already edited my comment to say "one of the first" 3 hours ago.

Also yes, I consider every linux DE that isn't Gnome or KDE "smaller".

  • Germany, pretty common among gen x generation and older (my family isn't really that wealthy, either; the gen x people all got their home through inheritance), probably about 1 in 10 among younger generations. I doubt that I'll inherit much, either my parents or grandparents are probably going to sell their houses and spend it all on geriartric care.

  • Germany exists.

  • Maybe it's because even within the fediverse, there are too many people who agree to satirized positions unironically. i.e. Lemmy is just a little too diverse for most satire.

  • Mint’s relative lethargy at migrating to wayland has been increasingly becoming a sore point due to the sheer practical difference it makes

I mean, pretty much every desktop environment that's not Gnome or KDE has been dragging its feet. AFAIK Cinnamon is on track to be *the first smaller DE with full wayland support. I understand that you don't want to wait if you're actually interested in some of wayland's features, though.

  • Could have been a regular old Photoshop, if it wasn't for AI artifacts.

  • Fun fact, the etymologically correct English term for people from Deutschland would be "dutch".

  • That sounds like it would only work if the straight person can easily interpret the non-binary person as "basically like a cis man/woman just with different pronouns", and the non-binary person either has the same set of genitals that you'd expect based on their appearance, or the straight person just doesn't care about unexpected genitals, which seems rare.

    But I'm bi, so I wouldn't know.

  • Sounds like the only upside is tax evasion. Employees are generally not resourceful enough to get away with that.

  • So you're saying, US employers might start reintroducing company currency in the near- to mid-future?

  • collapse of the entire western AAA gaming industry

Don't threaten me with a good time. Seriously, that might be exactly what the industry needs.

  • How exactly are you going to block porn comics when they're done by different creators, and often reposted? Disabling nsfw isn't great, either, because it's usually a global account setting, and people are setting posts to nsfw for all kinds of bullshit reasons. And finally, some nsfw comics are genuinely good! Wouldn't want to miss oglaf or extrafabulous. TBH, general comics communities like this one are deeply flawed when it comes to filtering; the way they're set up, it's often impossible to filter things out even if you were on piefed, which has much more powerful filtering options than lemmy.

  • TIL that exists.

I've been thinking about getting more serious about those annoying tags (TBH I'm only sometimes bothered by tags, but the size of the tags is getting ridiculous lately). Is a seamripper really that much better than undoing the seams with nail scissors?

  • How are you even going to know about that if you don't understand a word of it? Machine translation is too inaccurate to read forums and I've never encountered this specific dream of opening a ramen shop in manga or anime. Come to think of it, I've never even seen a UK person who dreams of opening a pub, either; I think you need to seek out very specific online spaces to see that kind of thing or talk to the people face to face.

  • Pretty much, yeah.

  • Nah, it's billionaires. Silent gen billionaires, boomer billionaires, gen x billionaires, millenial billionaires. Billionaires all the way down.
