  • "80% of all those who suffer from tinnitus have a form known as “somatic tinnitus,” characterized by the ability to alter the pitch of the ringing in one’s ears by clenching the jaw or applying pressure to the forehead."

Woah. I thought everyone could do this. I didn't appreciate that it was releated to my tinnitus. That's wild.

  • Another in Edinburgh. Although I've been here for (checks notes) 33 years. Yikes.

  • Doesn't work on Jerboa ☹️ At least I now know why my feed seems to be filled with these html image links.

  • Edinburgh here. Glad to know that it's physics, and not those pancakes I had for lunch.

  • Definitely. Nothing really caught my attention in terms of the used retro games, but got chatting to Alastair from Lowtek games who was really nice, and just loved the look of the blue cart. Plus any excuse to fire up the old front loader!

  • Butter and marmite. Just make sure to use two knives, unless you're an animal.

  • Also Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD) is a thing.

  • Edinburgh calling. No rain.

  • I so glad our eldest swapped swimming (9am, other side of town) for tennis (11am, ten minute walk away).

  • Can't beat a bit of Marble Madness. I believe it's in Braehead Arena which is used for Ice Hockey, so hopefully it has a beast of an AC system!

  • We live in Edinburgh, where the schools finish at lunchtime, so I have about 3.5 hours of freedom.

And this weekend we're going through to the Play Expo retro games thingy in Glasgow tomorrow! Last one was in 2019, so looking forward to that.

  • Nice! Thank you!

  • They've added a sticky explaining (sort of) their reasoning. And also apologizing to those who think they should remain closed. I was going to cut and paste some parts but then the 5 minute daily screen timer I've imposed for 'the app that shall not be named' ran out.

Something about standing in front of a dam with a sieve.

  • Indeed. Hence the grimace!

  • I blame CSI and Law and Order. I think they oversaturated us with "of the week" procedurals drama so collectively we all jumped ship to these shorter, high concept shows.

  • The heat and the kids. Looking forward to the summer holidays! 😬

  • Second this. My son loved these when he was that age, and still does. Portal 2 is maybe pushing it in terms of suitability, but not too bad. I generally stick to age ratings as a rule. Portal 1 plus the extra levels definitely.

  • Trying to do as much work as I can before the sun comes round to the back of the house and into the room I'm working in, by which time it will be unbearable. I think I have about 45 minutes. Which means it will coincide with a Teams call. Woop.

  • I popped over to the site that shall not be named for a look, and was dissappointed to see so much of it was back open, with users posting away. But well done CasualUK for sticking it out.
