  • Fine, if they want to play these games then let's play. Student debt is over $1.6 trillion. If I stopped making payments individually, the ~$40k I borrowed is my problem. If all of us stop paying, it's the government's problem.

  • That requires an adjuster

  • Has the wood chipper surpassed the guillotine?

  • I'm fairly certain that there's some kind of platform rule that will ban you if you write full sentences like a normal person.

  • Never once did I imply what you assumed. It's always good when injustice is uncovered. However the DOJ is the same corrupt bullshit as cops. They proved over the last 100 years.

  • Google workers actually launched CODE when they formed a direct-join minority union called Alphabet Workers United.

  • It's good that it was released, and completely fucked that it took 100 years. Multiple things can be true at the same time.

  • Unions aren't something that just happen to your workplace. Consider taking CODE's free organizer training and make it happen.

  • China invaded Alaska, so the US forcibly annexed Canada because they wouldn't let troops cross the land border due to natural resource disputes. With the exception of "oops, no transistors", the prewar geopolitical fallout lore is extremely somewhat realistic

Edit: I haven't thought about the lore in a long time, it's less realistic than I remember. However the progression of the resource wars is very solid

  • The right thing to do would have been to release it 100 years ago. This is them admitting to covering for killer cops.

  • Amateur move, with that much heat just stick the whole cigarette into the fire and let the paper catch so you don't burn your face

  • Thankfully the workers and unions pushed him out of the company through collective action

  • Play on words with right. They acted reasonably, but with overwhelming force that wasn't necessary. The reason they acted reasonably is heavily contrasted with how police react unreasonably to black people.

  • When it comes to the police, everything is about race. How they police, what they patrol, when they act with less lethal force, and why they kill suspects. It matters both that the police killed him, and it matters when and why they were motivated to kill him.

  • So you don't think it matters that black people are overwhelming killed by police when they don't pose a threat?

  • Bringing that up in a conversation about struggles for neurodivergent people, not strictly true but might be appropriate as there's something to be said there. Bringing that up when a ND person tells you their diagnosis is not ok and denying the person's experience.

  • When compared to other cops, the self restraint they had was basically saintly. At least they did something white for once.

  • More than deserved!

  • I was curious since I'd never considered that, I became a member the old fashioned way. It doesn't look like you can donate directly, but CWA has a merch store full of reasonably priced, union-made clothing that you can buy to support them!
