  • This has been going on for years across multiple devices. Basically since the rewrite. Only on Android, never on Linux.

  • Not on Android.

  • I use Firefox everywhere, but there are a few main issues that stop me from converting people...

    • The lack of tab groups. This seems silly, but most people I know, especially on mobile, keep a lot of tabs open. If they're researching something, or shopping for something they'll leave 20 tabs open. Having that in one tab group in Chrome is a better way to organize than just tons of tabs.
    • Sites that don't work well on Firefox. Again, specifically on mobile I run into sites that work on Chrome but not on Firefox.
    • General stability issues. I need to force close Firefox once or twice a day because it will just fail to load pages.
  • It's funny because you could have checked this yourself by just searching "saloon car" but you chose to be rude instead.

  • It looks like it changed last year, but the UK. The law was previously that pedestrians in a crosswalk should wait until it was clear to start crossing, as opposed to cars should stop if someone is waiting to cross.

  • In most states in the US, if the automobile traffic has the green light and the pedestrian traffic has a "don't walk" sign, then the pedestrians are supposed to yield to the cars.

  • Honest but unpopular answer? He might believe he can make more money holding on to the $180k. It's the same reason why I would take a 2% car loan even if I had enough to buy the car outright. I can make more than 2% just keeping that money in a mutual fund.

  • I'll tell you that even at 4 I see differences in my son's behavior if he watches Turtles or if he watches something like Puffin Rock.

  • It still is if you listen to alt country.

  • Wow. "These people have killed or attempted to kill everyone who came to their island. But maybe if I tell them about Jesus they'll be friendly!"

  • Related genres but I wouldn't say it's a subgenre. They both evolved from "string music" but took it in very different directions.

  • Can someone explain the defederation thing to me? I thought that was "cutting the cord" yet I see people from lemmy.world commenting here.

  • What an odd trailer for what this patch is. Going back to the Reddit post that kicked it off feels like something you do for a 1.0 release. And the rhykker clip is specifically referencing content that is not part of this patch.

It was completely irrelevant sound bites set over some video of a Runemaster running around casting some spells.

  • Linux is a great way to extend the usefulness of an EOL Chromebook. I would not buy a Chromebook for Linux though. You'd be better off getting a used Thinkpad or something.

  • Most companies in the US will not be okay with you walking off for a month in a row though.

  • Well the counterfeit versions don't have microchips in them.

  • That's not how their book lending works. There are a limited number of copies and they can only be checked out in a DRM-protected format. Unless you strip the DRM from them you cannot print them out.

  • That's not the issue though. There's a finite amount of money that Spotify pays out based on the amount of subscription fees it is bringing in. That $38 million would be divided up amongst all the other artists if it wasn't being paid to white noise podcasts.

  • Of course it's rare, how many helicopters are there on Mars?
