  • Ah Slackware, the first time that I learned software could damage hardware. It has the option to also configure hsync on your CRT monitor, and if said monitor didn't correctly validate the range it would permanently fuck it up.

    Any time now.

  • Spoiler alert: she didn't buy it for you to see...

  • You're just not going to give up this crusade are you? Going to start comparing salaries of line workers to starving kids in Africa again?

  • Nah, just not in to martyr type "woe is me" whining. The platform is what you chose to make of it. You can contribute positively and help build a platform, or you can whine and expect things to be delivered how you want. It's really up to you.

  • 2 is kinda the WIS vs INT debate. You may be able to memorize and recall things but not understand and act on nuances in the moment.

  • Do you know how much a lot of those positions make? A lot are in the $15/hour range if they're lucky. That's for a Production Assistant, others are very much in that range to. Given that numerous studies have shown that's not enough to live on depending on the state, it very much means they're struggling to survive.

  • Then you obviously don't know how a movie is made and who is involved. Once you have a full AI movie, you won't need any of the hands on set that definitely aren't rich... Grips, caterers, assistants, makeup, wardrobe, etc. Those aren't "pseudo-wealthy". They're working a 9-5 to make ends meet.

  • Can you install Firefox on iOS? If so see how it works using that for the PWA back end.

  • Thank you. I was reading from the wrong direction so I was getting 80/90/10 instead of 80/10/10.

  • How do you read it? When I add up all three directions I get well over 100%.

  • Is there a specific requirement for ink as opposed to laser?

  • On snap, that's real. I thought someone was joking and made Elon Musk blue. (screencap only, haven't watched the video)

  • Did they turn out alright though?

  • I think that's more an issue of PWAs and the underlying browser. I have 3 PWAs installed (Wefwef, Kbin and Google News) and they will all do that to me at some point, which leads me to believe it's the browser. I'm using Firefox on Android if that makes any difference.

  • I give credit to the admins of Lemmy.world. Because their instance blew up in popularity, they went through and did some optimizations to DB and other queries. What's even better is they've submitted the PRs so all instances can scale as smoothly going forward.

  • So theoretically as long as my gross was below the cutoff (currently $160K in 2023) would that keep a running tally of my gross earnings over the years or are there other things such as 401k that would reduce that amount?

I was wanting to calculate how much I grossed in my lifetime but of course don't have a chunk of that data anymore.

  • I used to love Xposed. The xPrivacy plug-in did exactly what OP asked. Unfortunately Google kept changing and restricting the API and also the switch from Davlik to ART pretty much killed it off.

  • It's a flerkin.
